    摘要: A card edge connector comprising a housing, electrical contacts, and ejectors. The housing has a middle section with a card edge receiving area, two guide projections at opposite ends of the middle section, and a keeper section. The electrical contacts extend from the middle section, through the keeper, to a bottom of the housing. The housing is suitably configured to receive a daughter printed circuit board at an angle of about 30.degree. relative to a mother printed circuit board. The ejectors are adapted to lock the daughter board to the connector and, eject the daughter board from the connector.

    摘要: A card edge connector that has a base, spring contacts connected to the base, and a cover movably mounted on the base. The cover is adapted to move at least some of the spring contacts from a retracted position to a contact position upon insertion of a first type of card into the connector and, adapted not to move spring contacts upon insertion of a second type of card into the connector. The cover is adapted to be moved by the first type of card, but not by the second type of card. Lateral support is provided to the cover by the base to prevent the cover from being substantially pushed laterally outward by the spring contacts. Clips on the cover are provided to prevent the first type of card from being removed from the connector without moving the cover.

    摘要: An electrical connector is provided with a housing, electrical contacts mounted to the housing, and ejectors pivotally mounted to the housing. The ejectors have pivot posts that extend in the same direction and spaced ejecting fingers. The pivot posts are axially slid into pivot holes at the edge of the housing along a first direction. The ejectors are then rotated in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction with the fingers being received in finger holes in the housing to thereby prevent the ejectors being inadvertently disconnected from the housing. The fingers and finger holes extend, at least partially, between adjacent contact receiving holes in the housing. Detent locating of the ejectors is provided at an open position and a closed position. The housing includes blocking projections to prevent connection of an integrated circuit chip other than in a predetermined position.

    摘要: An electronic connector is configured to removably receive either a circuit card of a first type, having one row of contacts per side, on an insertion tab adjacent to an insertion edge, or a circuit card of a second type, having two rows of contacts per side. Two rows of spring contacts are provided for this purpose on each side of a central card-receiving slot. Interposing means are also provided to prevent contact between a daughter card of the first type fully inserted in this slot and one of these rows on each side. These interposing means may consist of a slotted interposer structure slid over a portion of the insertion tab of the card, or alternately of a pair of pivotable interposers mounted along the length of the connector, to be pivoted by sections of daughter cards of the first type so that vanes extending from these interposers will push these springs away from the card.An electronic device, such as a connector of this type, includes solder tails for attachment within holes of a mother board, aligned in several parallel rows. Individual solder tails in each row are displaced by a first distance. Individual solder tails in adjacent rows are displaced by a second distance, which is a submultiple of the first distance less than half the first distance. This second distance may also be a multiple of the first distance divided by the number of rows.

The connector may have the same length and width as conventional connectors used on Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) personal computers but is deeper. Conventional 8- and 16-bit ISA accessory circuit boards may be plugged into a corresponding socket which is also disclosed herein until they reach a stop upon which they rest, working as they would in an ISA personal computer. 32-bit Extended Industry Standard Architecture accessory circuit boards have a second row of connectors and a notch so they slide farther down into the socket, lining up with a second row of contacts. This design uses less physical space for connectors, allowing more room for logic circuitry on the motherboard.
