Abstract: An improved system for monitoring drive members in a belt-driven application during installation and during operation and for detecting common failure modes in belt-driven equipment is disclosed. Sensors are positioned within or proximate the motor housing to detect vibrations on the belt or in the electric machine. The vibration signals are used to monitor operating conditions and/or to identify the failure modes in belt-driven equipment. The vibration signals may be used, for example, to determine tension on a belt, detect either a static or dynamic force applied along the belt, a misalignment between a pulley and the belt, or a shock load applied to the belt during operation. By monitoring the various operating conditions of the belt-driven equipment, a controller may identify an existing failure mode or predict a premature failure mode.

Abstract: An energy monitoring system includes a memory storing instructions to execute an energy modeling technique and processing circuitry for executing the instructions to operate the energy modeling technique. The energy modeling technique includes receiving energy data from a plurality of segments representative of one or more logical subgroups. The energy modeling technique includes categorizing the energy data of the logical subgroups into a plurality of segments. The energy modeling technique includes organizing the plurality of segments into a plurality of state-based hierarchical levels. The energy modeling technique includes calculating energy usage and factors associated with the plurality of state-based hierarchical levels via an energy model. The energy modeling technique includes outputting a visualization representative of the energy data corresponding to each of the segments to a monitoring and control system, resulting in a graphical representation accessible by a user-viewable screen.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to power topology discovery in industrial environments. More specifically, some embodiments relate to automatic power topology discovery for factories based on device data that is already recorded for other purposes. Systems and methods described herein may be used to generate an accurate electrical network topology by collecting power data from power devices that may provide real-time or recorded measurements, detecting power change events, and matching power change signatures over power events for the devices in order to calculate the likelihoods of possible topology assumptions. Power change event data is used to recursively update topology probabilities using the Bayesian formula until a system topology can be produced with satisfactory confidence.

Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein describes a method and system to monitor and identify vibrations in a rotational mechanical system. Various fault conditions in a rotating machine operating at variable speeds may be identified, at least in part, by identifying the multiple of the fundamental frequency, or order, at which the vibration occurs. The orders of vibration present in a measured vibration signal may be determined by finding an order spectrum of a measured vibration signal in the position domain. A fault vector is generated from the order spectrum that identifies the magnitude of each order of vibration present in the measured vibration signal. The fault vector may be plotted on a radar chart to provide a visual indication of the type of fault present in the mechanical system. Evaluation models for each fault determines a probability and magnitude for each fault condition being present in the sampled vibration signal.

Abstract: The present invention provides a mover traveling along a track, the mover system having a mover frame supporting a mover sensor element and a track frame providing a path for which the mover frame travels and supporting track sensor elements for interacting with the mover sensor element of the mover frame. The interaction between the mover sensor element and track sensor elements provides an identification signal of each mover and the identification signal of each mover on the track is arranged according to a cyclic sequence where unique contiguous substrings occur only once within the sequence.
