摘要: A holographic read only memory card which can be coupled to and read by a card reader to which electronic read only memory cards can also be coupled to and read by the card reader is disclosed. The holographic read only memory card comprises: a housing having a compartment for receiving a holographic storage medium; a holographic storage medium having stored thereon holographic data; and optionally a an electronics panel member having an electronic memory component which can be read by the card reader when the holographic read only memory card is coupled to the electronic card reader. The housing comprises one or more card locating members to thereby repeatedly position the holographic read only memory card each time the holographic read only memory card is coupled to the electronic card reader so that the holographic data can be read.

摘要: A card connector which can interchangeably couple a holographic memory card or an electronic memory card to a card reader and/or writer which can then read and/or write to the coupled holographic memory card or electronic memory card. The card connector comprises: a memory card receiving section which can interchangeably receive the holographic memory card or the electronic memory card; and one or more card positioning members which cooperate with one or more card locating members on the coupled holographic memory card or the coupled electronic memory card to thereby repeatedly position the coupled holographic memory card or the coupled electronic memory card each time the holographic memory card or the electronic memory card is coupled to the card reader and/or writer, and is in a fully inserted card position, so that data can be read from and/or written to the coupled holographic memory card or the coupled electronic memory card.

摘要: The present invention provides an image forming process including the steps of: forming a latent image; developing the latent image with a toner to form a toner image; transferring the toner image onto a receiving body; and fixing the toner image to the receiving body, wherein the step of fixing is carried out using a fixing device including a heat-fixing roller, an endless belt, and a pressure member to allow the endless belt to travel around the heat-fixing roller at a given angle such that a nip is produced through which a recording sheet passes, with the pressure member being pressed to distort the heat-resistant elastic layer in the heat-fixing roller, and wherein the toner for developing the electrostatic latent image satisfies predetermined requirements.

摘要: A color image input from a document image inputting unit is converted into a gray-scale image by a brightness image extracting unit. The gray-scale image is then converted into an image having a higher resolution according to the resolution of the original gray-scale image. When this conversion is performed, subpixels are generated between the original pixels, and the values of the subpixels are obtained with an interpolation method. Furthermore, a threshold value for a binarization process is generated by using an original pixel value and a subpixel value. The characters included in the binarized image are recognized by a binary image recognizing unit, and a recognition result is output from a recognition result outputting unit.

摘要: A document image tilt detection unit extracts a set of elements forming a character from a document image, extracts candidates for horizontal and vertical lines based on the character elements, estimates the reliability of each candidate for a line, and extracts a set of probable lines. Then, it estimates the tilt of the document image based on the arrangement of the character elements belonging to the line elements in the set of probable lines. A layout analysis unit extracts a set of lines in a fixed line direction from a set of basic elements forming the document image, and reciprocally performs the extraction of a column based on the correlation between lines and the extraction of a line based on the restrictions of the column. By providing the document image tilt detection unit and the layout analysis unit, the tilt of the document image containing both vertical and horizontal character lines can be detected, and lines and columns can be extracted at a high speed with high precision.

摘要: A moving body recognition apparatus which recognizes a shape and movement of an object moving in relation to an image input unit by extracting feature points, e.g. a peak of the object and a boundary of color, each in said images captured at a plurality of instants in time for observation by the image input unit. The moving body recognition apparatus comprises an image input unit for capturing images of an object as a moving body having a rotation, a feature point extraction unit for extracting feature points from the images inputted by the image input unit, a feature point storage unit for storing known position data of the extracted feature points, and a shape/movement recognition unit for calculating the actual positions and movements of the feature points of the object in the images by using the known position data of the extracted feature points outputted from the feature point storage unit.
