摘要： A viewing device and method are provided for use with an image transparency having an associated tracking memory. The viewing device has a display adapted to present at least two illumination patterns, a reader device for obtaining data stored in a tracking memory of an image transparency positioned proximate to the display surface, and a control processing unit. The control processing unit is adapted to receive the obtained data and to generate more than one illumination pattern with a first of the illumination patterns formed for passing through the transparency and second of the illumination patterns formed for viewing on the display without passing through the transparency, wherein the appearance of at least one of the illumination patterns is determined based upon the data obtained from the tracking memory.

摘要： A viewing device is provided for viewing at least one image transparency having an associated tracking memory. The viewing device comprises an illumination device having at least one viewing surface adapted to present at least one illumination pattern, at least one radio frequency read write device for obtaining electronic data stored in an associated tracking memory of an image transparency positioned proximate to the viewing surface and at least one display device for viewing at least one electronic image related to said at least one image transparency. A body contains the wireless communication circuit and the illumination circuit with the body occupying a space that is less than about five cubic millimeters. Imaging elements can also be adapted to sense radiation and provide wireless signals having data therein said data being based upon the amount of sensed radiation.

摘要： The invention is directed to content bearing mediums having a capacity to receive additional content and systems and methods for updating and presenting content recorded on a content bearing medium, e.g., video cassette tape, CD or DVD, digital memory, game cartridges. In one aspect of the invention, a content bearing medium is provided. The content bearing medium has a content bearing signal stored thereon and a communication circuit. The communication circuit is adapted to exchange wireless signals with a remote programming device and to store an additional content bearing signal in a memory based upon the signals exchanged. The communication circuit is further adapted to transmit the additional content signals upon request by a player of the content bearing medium so that the player can receive the additional content signals and present an output that is based, at least in part, upon the stored signals.
