摘要： A liquid cooling system comprising: a liquid inlet and outlet; one or more liquid reservoirs in fluid communication with the liquid inlet and outlet; an evaporative element in fluid communication with a liquid reservoir; and a fan in flowable communication with a surface of the evaporative element is provided. The liquid cooling system can cool drinking water. The liquid cooling system can be powered by AC power, DC power, solar power or a combination. The liquid cooling system can be used in-line in a hydration system, for example.

摘要： Provided is a flexible cryostat for use in applications including surrounding high temperature superconductor cabling. The flexible cryostat disclosed here in an embodiment includes a polymer pipe as the outer surface of the cryostat. In an embodiment, both the inner and outer pipes of a cryostat are replaced with polymer pipes which have the same or different thickness and composition. One or both of the polymer pipes can be used in combination with a permeation barrier, which is, in separate embodiments, ethylene vinyl alcohol, or a metallic layer such as aluminum or stainless steel. The flexible polymer pipe can surround the permeation barrier, or the permeation barrier can be positioned at the inner or outer surface of one or both flexible polymer pipes.

摘要： A self-biasing spindle motor connector (such as 200) for a disc drive (such as 100) is disclosed. The spindle motor connector (such as 200) includes a body portion (such as 202) and a plurality of alloy contacts (such as 204) extending away from the body portion. The connector may comprise a crush rib (such as 206) extending from at least one side of the body portion and making contact with a vertical wall (such as locating edge 208) of a base plate (such as 102) of the disc drive. The crush rib ensures that the connector is properly biased to a reference edge and situated in relation to the base plate and the disc drive printed circuit board. An x-y control boss (such as 212) prevents the connector from moving in the x-y directions while the crush rib prevents the connector from rotational movement. The connector may also include a rotational boss (such as 216) that is inserted into a rotational control hole of the base plate to prevent rotational movement of the connector.

摘要： An apparatus and method for reducing deflection of an actuator assembly within a head disc assembly in a disc drive during a mechanical shock event. A snubber is fastened to a stationary portion of the head disc assembly and has a snubber body and two or more snubber arms connected to the snubber body. The adjacent snubber arms form slots therebetween. A portion of the actuator assembly may be inserted into each of the slots whereby the snubber arms will reduce the deflective movement of the actuator assembly during a mechanical shock event.

摘要： A housing has a base that includes a baseplate and a rail. The rail projects outwardly to an impact rim along a bottom edge of the rail. The rail includes a flexible web that couples the impact rim to the baseplate. A projecting contact surface on the impact rim is laterally offset from at least one bending axis through the flexible web. An impact to the contact surface is offset from the bending axis by a moment arm.

摘要： The sleeve of an actuator bearing cartridge is provided with an inclined surface on its outer surface. A tolerance ring is placed around the sleeve, and the cartridge and ring are then press-fit into the actuator bore together. Axial slippage of the ring and actuator relative to the cartridge is prevented as the ring is effectively wedged between the inclined surface and the inner surface of the actuator bore.
