摘要： A support frame for a folding ladder, a folding ladder positioning system, and a method for installing a folding ladder, are disclosed and pertain to folding ladders disposable within an opening, such as openings in a ceiling of a house, to provide temporary access between one floor or space and another floor or space. In one aspect, a support frame includes a plurality of separable support frame plates collectively configured to circumscribe the opening and a plurality of connection sites are disposed at opposing ends of each of the plurality of separable support frame plates to facilitate connection of each support frame plate to adjacent support frame plates. The connection sites include, for example, mating locking connectors or a plurality of matching through-holes, which permit insertion of a fastening means therethrough.

摘要： A knife according to the invention has a handle with improved flexibility and gripping characteristics. The tang embedded in the unitary handle has a series of spaced-apart flex sites at which the tang can resiliently bend. The handle is made of a resilient material which can flex in cooperation with the tang. The handle may further include a series of rows of flexible ribs as an improved gripping surface. The knife according to the invention can flex along its entire length and is well suited for use as a fillet knife.

摘要： A folding ladder is configured for installation in an opening to provide access between one floor or space and another floor or space. The folding ladder includes, in one aspect, an upper ladder section having a left ladder rail and a right ladder rail, a lower ladder section having a left ladder rail and a right ladder rail, a hinge rotatably connecting the upper ladder section ladder rails to the lower ladder section ladder rails, and a plurality of steps rotatably disposed between the upper and lower ladder rails. The plurality of steps are configured for rotation between a retracted position and a deployed position. At least one step disposed between the upper ladder rails and at least one step disposed between the lower ladder rails are linked by at least one linkage member so that each of the noted steps rotates between a retracted position and a deployed position upon rotational movement of the upper ladder section relative to the lower ladder section between a closed position and an open position.

Upper and lower positioning assemblies are vertically movable with respect to the frame to accommodate MacPherson struts of different sizes and spring offsets, with the upper positioning assembly being vertically adjustable independently of the lower positioning assembly and the lower positioning assembly being vertically adjustable with respect to frame. There is also disclosed locking mechanism for each of the positioning assemblies to retain the MacPherson strut in place during operation of the compressor.

摘要： A system for holding a ladder in a secure position relative to an object against which the ladder rests. The system comprises a strap that contacts the ladder and the object and secures the ladder to the object. The system is also comprised of a first buckle and a second buckle, with each buckle being able to be placed at a desired position on the strap. Each end of the strap passes through a respective buckle and is positioned about a side rail of the ladder. The present invention also pertains to a buckle for holding a strap. The buckle comprises a first member having a first hole. Additionally, the buckle is comprised of a second member having a second hole. There is also a third member having a third hole. The third member is in sliding relationship with the first and second members such that the first side of the third member can slide over the first hole and contact the strap extending therethrough. A second side of the third member can slide over the second hole and contact the strap extending therethrough. Moreover, a third hole can be defined between the first and second members which the strap can extend and which the first and second members can hold when they slide toward each other along the third member.

摘要： An optical toe/track measurement system includes a pair of toe gauge assemblies respectively mountable on the two wheels at one end of a motor vehicle and a pair of track scale assemblies respectively mountable on the other two wheels of the vehicle. Each toe gauge assembly includes an elongated tubular housing having toe and track projection systems for respectively projecting toe and track light beams from the opposite ends of the housing, the track beam being projected coaxially with the housing onto the track scale on the same side of the vehicle, while the toe beam is projected perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the housing onto a scale carried by the toe gauge assembly on the other side of the vehicle. Light is supplied respectively to the two toe gauge assemblies throught two fiber optic cables from a single remote light source. Each fiber optic cable has an input end which plugs into a receptacle in the source enclosure and a bifurcated output end which is optically coupled to both of the projection systems in the associated toe gauge assembly.
