摘要： Local discovery of mobile network services involves coupling a communications device to a local network segment of a mobile data network. An announcement is sent from the communication device and/or a network entity (such as a network proxy) describing a service available via the respective devices. The announcement is receivable by any device on the local network segment. A request is received at the device for a detailed description of the service information in response to the announcement. A description of the service is sent from the communications device to the originator of the request in response to the request, and the service is established between the originator and the communication device and/or network entity in response to the sending of the description of the service

A user terminal may receive a user terminal identifier and a sensor identifier from a user terminal, determine a group topology based on the user terminal identifier and the sensor identifier to identify a spatial relationship relative to the user terminal, receive a media signal, and identify a subsection of the media signal. The user terminal also may generate subsection information to assign a subsection of the media signal to the user terminal corresponding to the spatial relationship, and may communicate the subsection information to the user terminal.

摘要： A method, system, device, and computer code product is disclosed in which a sender transmits data to a plurality of receivers via a point-to-multipoint session. The receiver sends data repair requests to the sender requesting data expected but not received and the sender retransmits the expected but not received data via the point-to-multipoint session. The sender can also schedule point-to-point data repair sessions with individual receivers if the retransmission via the point-to-multipoint session does not correct all errors. The sender can be configured to delay point-to-point repair sessions using a randomization mechanism based on the number of receivers using the point-to-multipoint session.

Formatted data can comprise metadata and content (media data) and several embodiment of the inventions disclose retransmitting the metadata in order to increase the reliability of the file distribution by increasing the chances that the metadata is received without error. In addition, embodiments of the invention disclose scheduling transmission of data packets of formatted data so that the metadata packets are transmitted at an earlier time location than they occur in the original formatted data file to decrease latency in file playback.
