Abstract: A valve assembly is provided for a reciprocating pump. The valve assembly includes a valve seat comprising a shoulder. The valve assembly also includes a valve body configured to move relative to the valve seat between an open position and a closed position. The valve body is separated from the shoulder of the valve seat in the open position. The valve body is sealingly engaged with the shoulder of the valve seat in the closed position. The valve assembly also includes a damper operatively connected between the valve body and the valve seat.
