Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing a solid catalyst component suitable for producing polyethylene and its copolymers, said process comprising the steps of: (a) contacting a dehydrated support having hydroxyl groups with a magnesium compound having the general formula MgR1R2; (b) contacting the product obtained in step (a) with modifying compounds (A) and/or (B) and/or (C), wherein: (A) is at least one oxygen and/or nitrogen comprising organic compound; (B) is a compound having the general formula R11f(R12O)gSiXh, (C) is a compound having the general formula (R13O)4M, and (c) contacting the product obtained in step (b) with a titanium halide compound having the general formula TiX4, wherein Ti is a titanium atom and X is a halide atom, wherein an organometallic compound is added either before step (a) and/or after step (c). The invention also relates to a solid catalyst component obtainable by said process. The invention further relates to a process for producing polyethylene and its copolymers in the presence of the solid catalyst component and a co-catalyst.

Abstract: The invention relates to a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film comprising a propylene homopolymer or propylene-ethylene copolymer having an ethylene content of at most 1.0 wt % based on the propylene-ethylene copolymer having an Mw/Mn in the range from 5.0 to 12, wherein Mw stands for the weight average molecular weight and Mn stands for the number average weight and wherein Mw and Mn are measured according to ASTM D6474-12, an XS in the range from 1.0 to 6.0 wt %, wherein XS stands for the amount of xylene solubles which are measured according to ASTM D 5492-10, a melt flow rate in the range of 1 to 10 dg/min as measured according to IS01133 (2.16 kg/230° C.) and a crystal size distribution as indicated by a height/width ratio of the highest peak of the first cooling curve of at least 0.70 W/g° C. as determined by ASTM D3418-08 using a heating and cooling rate of 10° C./min.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing a solid support for a procatalyst suitable for preparing a catalyst composition for olefin polymerization, said process for preparing said solid support comprising reacting a compound R42MgX42-z with a silane compound Si(OR5)4-n(R6)n in a solvent and mixing the resulting mixture with a mixing device and at a certain mixing speed in order to give a solid support Mg(OR1)xX12-x said solid support obtained having an average particle size of at most 17 μm, preferably at most 16 or 14 μm, more preferably at most 12 μm. The invention further relates to a solid support, a process for preparing a procatalyst and said procatalyst as well as polyolefins obtained using said procatalyst.

Abstract: The invention relates to a polypropylene composition comprising a terpolymer composition comprising (A) a first terpolymer fraction containing propylene, ethylene and 1-hexene, wherein the first terpolymer fraction has a melt flow rate of 0.005 to 0.20 dg/min determined by ISO 1133-1:2011 (230° C., 2.16 kg) and (B) a second terpolymer fraction containing propylene, ethylene and 1-hexene, wherein the second terpolymer fraction has a melt flow rate of 0.30 to 70 dg/min determined by ISO 1133-1:2011 (230° C., 2.16 kg), wherein the first terpolymer fraction is prepared using a first set of reaction conditions, the second terpolymer fraction is prepared using a second set of reaction conditions and the first and second set of reaction conditions are different, wherein the polypropylene composition (i) has a melt flow rate of 0.10 to 0.70 dg/min determined by ISO 1133-1:2011 (230° C., 2.16 kg), (ii) has a content of ethylene derived units in the range from 1.6 to 3.0 wt %; (iii) has a content of 1-hexene derived units in the range from 1.7 to 4.0 wt %; and (iv) has a ratio of the content of ethylene derived units to the content of 1-hexene derived units in the composition of at least 0.70.
