Abstract: A metallocene complex according to formula 1 wherein M is a metal selected from lanthanides or transition metals from group 3, 4, 5, or 6, Q is an anionic ligand to M, k is the number of Q groups and equals the valence of M minus 2, X is a cyclic bridging group that is bonded to a carbon atom of the cyclopentadienyl ligand and to nitrogen, Z1, and Z4 are hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical with 1-20 carbon atoms; adjacent substituents Z2 and Z3 and are connected to form an indenyl or tetrahydroindenyl ring system and R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical with 1-20 carbon atoms. Also described is a composition comprising the metallocene complex, a process for the preparation of the complex, and a process for the polymerization of olefin polymers in the presence of the metallocene complex.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing a solid support for a procatalyst suitable for preparing a catalyst composition for olefin polymerization, said process for preparing said solid support comprising reacting a compound R4zMgX42-z with a silane compound Si(OR5)4-n(R6)n in a solvent and mixing the resulting mixture with a mixing device and at a certain mixing speed in order to give a solid support Mg(OR1)xX12-x said solid support obtained having an average particle size of at most 17 μm, preferably at most 16 or 14 μm, more preferably at most 12 μm. The invention further relates to a solid support, a process for preparing a procatalyst and said procatalyst as well as polyolefins obtained using said procatalyst.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for transitioning from a first continuous polymerization in a gas phase reactor conducted in the presence of a metallocene catalyst to a second polymerization conducted in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst in the gas phase reactor wherein the metallocene catalyst and the Ziegler-Natta catalysts are incompatible, the process comprising: (a) discontinuing the introduction of the metallocene catalyst into the gas phase reactor; (b) introducing an effective amount of cyclohexylamine into the reactor to at least partially deactivate the metallocene catalyst; (c) introducing an organometallic compound into the reactor and reacting the organometallic compound with cyclohexylamine; (d) degas the gas composition of the reactor and build up a new composition inside the reactor for the second polymerization with the Ziegler-Natta catalyst (e) introducing the Ziegler-Natta catalyst into the reactor.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising a linear low-density polyethylene produced in the presence of a single-site catalyst system and 0.01-2.00% by weight of a nucleating agent, the linear low-density polyethylene having a density as determined according to ISO 1183-1 (2012), method A of >900 kg/m3and ≤940 kg/m3, wherein films produced using the polymer composition have a total defected area of ≤50 ppm of surface, the total defected area being the fraction of surface area of the film accounted for by gels having an equivalent diameter of >50 μm. Such polymer compositions are suitable for the production of films having a low oxygen transmission rate and a low water vapour transmission rate.
