Abstract: A method for provisioning radio resources for Idle or Inactive mode user equipment in wireless network includes configuring by a network node for Idle or Inactive mode of a UE, a plurality of reference signals comprising of reuse of at least one of Connected mode reference signal including at least one of Non-Zero Power Channel State Indicator Reference Signal (NZP-CSI-RS) resource, Tracking Reference Signal (TRS) resource, Phase Tracking Reference Signal (PTRS) resource. A new reference signal including at least one of NZP-CSI-RS resource, TRS resource, PTRS resource and new Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS) or DMRS like signal is configured. The UE is enabled based on at least one of the reference signals from the configured plurality of reference signals for performing one or more of at least one of gain, time, phase and frequency synchronization, Radio Resource Management (RRM) measurements, and Quasi-Co-Location (QCL) assumption for Paging PDCCH decoding.

Abstract: The present subject matter describes performing radio resource management (RRM) measurements by a WTRU in a 3GPP networks. The method comprise defining at-least one of: a) a channel condition threshold, b) a WTRU mobility threshold, and c) a measurement-reliability threshold. A first sub-set of reference-signal samples are measured out of a set of reference-signal samples based on sensing at least one of current channel conditions and mobility-conditions. A reliability-parameter associated with the first sub-set of measured samples is checked. Finally, network-measurement operation is concluded in case of the reliability-parameter being in accordance with the pre-defined reliability-thresholds.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods of operating user equipment in 5G NR communications system. In accordance with some of the embodiments, the method comprises detecting a condition related to the user equipment (UE) while in one of a radio frequency (RF) inactive state and a cell handover, the condition indicating one of (a) the UE is not in reception of signaling information from a serving base station during the RF inactive state and (b) the UE is out of synchronization with the serving base station; determining an event related to one of transmission of data by the UE, reception of data by the UE, and radio resource management (RRM) measurement by the UE in conjunction with the detected condition; and applying one or more of (a) a blind downlink control information (DCI) decoding, (b) a static DCI configuration and (c) a dynamic DCI configuration based on the determination to enable the UE to at least one of (a) receive the signaling information, (b) receive the data, and (c) perform radio resource management (RRM) measurement.
