A display device is disclosed. The display device includes a display including a backlight comprising a plurality of light sources and a display panel and configured to display a background image including a preset object, a sensor disposed at an outer part of the display and configured to sense an external lighting environment and a processor configured to determine a direction of a lighting based on the sensed lighting environment, to display a shadow object for the preset object at a position corresponding to the determined lighting direction, and to adjust a brightness of a light source corresponding to a position of the shadow object from among the plurality of light sources based on the sensed lighting environment.

An electronic device and a method for controlling the electronic device are provided. The method includes acquiring an image comprising a guide member positioned in an area at which a display device is to be installed; displaying the acquired image; analyzing a background area of the acquired image, the background area being positioned within the guide member in the acquired image; and acquiring information about a background image that is to be displayed in the background area of the acquired image.

The display apparatus includes a voice collecting unit which collects a user's voice; a first communication unit which transmits the user's voice to a first server, and receives text information corresponding to the user's voice from the first server; a second communication unit which transmits the received text information to a second server, and receives response information corresponding to the text information; an output unit which outputs a response message corresponding to the user's voice based on the response information; and a control unit which controls the output unit to output a response message differentiated from a response message corresponding to a previously collected user's voice, when a user's voice having a same utterance intention is re-collected.
