Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) may ascertain an incapability of the network to process a pending uplink signal based on a registration acceptance message from the network. For instance, a registration acceptance message from the network, that may indicate the network is not capable of processing the pending uplink signal service. Accordingly, upon ascertaining the incapability of the network to process the pending uplink signal, the UE may release a connection (e.g., a N1 Non-Access Stratum (NAS) signaling connection) between the UE and the network, where the connection is based on camping of the UE at a cell corresponding to the radio access network (RAN) (e.g., the NG-RAN) of the network. Alternatively, the UE may initiate one of an implementation dependent timer and a release timer (e.g., a T3540 timer) to release the connection (e.g., to release the N1 NAS signaling connection).

Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for controlling a voice call at a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network. A method includes transmitting, to a network entity, a tracking area update (TAU) service request for a subsystem (IMS) initiation; receiving, from the network entity, a TAU service reject message; and in response to the TAU service reject message, stopping a circuit switch (CS) fall back call in at least one legacy radio technology (RAT).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system, User Equipment (UE) and method for preventing voice call (VoLTE) call drops in a communication network. A paging message is received as an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) invite message. The paging message includes a domain, or the UE establishes a connection with the network, in order to determine whether the IMS invite is for a voice call. A condition of non-sustenance of the voice call is detected based on a power level check for the UE and Extended Service Request (ESR) is triggered. The voice call is continued according to a success or a failure of the ESR.
Abstract:
A method and user equipment for handling a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) selection in a mobile communication network is provided. The method includes obtaining, by a User Equipment (UE), a PLMN list of one or more Radio Access Technologies (RATs) comprising a list of available PLMNs, when the UE performs a Manual Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) selection, initiating a PLMN list validation timer, and reusing the previously obtained PLMN list, when at least one predefined event is triggered and the PLMN list validation timer is running. The at least one predefined event comprises at least one of Home Public Land Mobile Network (HPLMN) timer expiration, a manual PLMN selection, the manual CSG selection, and autonomous CSG selection.
Abstract:
Embodiments herein disclose a method for handling dual registration of user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. The method includes registering the UE on a fourth generation Radio Access Technology (4G RAT) and a fifth generation RAT (5G RAT). Further, the method includes determining, by the UE, an occurrence of at least one event. Further, the method includes suspending, by the UE, the registration on the 5G RAT. Further, the method includes performing, by the UE, communication using the registration on the 4G RAT.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the inventive concept herein provide a method and User Equipment (UE) for handling PLMN selection involving Proximity Based Services (ProSe) communication. The method includes detecting one of a PLMN selection due to the ProSe communication followed by a manual Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) cell selection, and a manual CSG cell selection followed by the PLMN selection due to the ProSe communication, when the UE has stored a duplicate value of a Registered PLMN (RPLMN) and a duplicate of a PLMN selection mode. Further, the method includes preserving the stored duplicate value of the RPLMN and a stored duplicate of the PLMN selection mode.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for handling Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) and circuit switch fall back (CSFB) calls at a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network. A non-access stratum (NAS) of the UE receives an IMS indication when an IMS call is initiated at the UE. The NAS determines a state of the UE. The NAS performs an action based on the state of the UE to trigger one of the IMS call and a CSFB call.
Abstract:
A method of reducing delay in Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) in a Radio Access Technology (RAT) communications network. The method includes initiating, by a terminal, a combined attach procedure by sending an attach request message to the RAT communications network, receiving, by the terminal, an attach accept message along with Location Area Identification (LAI) information from the network in response to the attach request message, checking, by the terminal, network identifier information in a RAT information table based on the received LAI, and selecting a mobile network based on the network identifier information to trigger establishment of a circuit-switched call.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for reducing power consumption in a user equipment (UE). The method includes establishing, by the UE, a connection with a network; receiving, by the UE, from the network, system information of at least one of a resident cell and a neighboring cell indicating if a network feature is supported by the at least one of the resident cell and the neighboring cell; determining, by the UE, if a selection criteria of a cell from among the at least one of the resident cell and the neighboring cell, which supports the network feature, is greater than a threshold; reselecting the cell having the selection criteria that is greater than the threshold; and initiating a connection establishment with the reselected cell, which supports the network feature.
