Abstract:
An image forming apparatus supporting peer to peer (P2P) connection includes a print engine to perform a print operation; a first wireless interface to connect the image forming apparatus to an access point (AP) of an infrastructured network; a second wireless interface to connect the image forming apparatus to an external mobile device by P2P; a soft AP module to allow the image forming apparatus to perform as an AP when the image forming apparatus is P2P connected; a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server unit to allocate an internet protocol (IP) address to the mobile device that is P2P connected to the image forming apparatus; a soft AP activating unit to activate the soft AP module; and a control unit. If a discovery packet is received from the mobile device via P2P interface, the control unit is operable to control the image forming apparatus to process the discovery packet.
Abstract:
A near field communication (NFC) operating mode of an image forming apparatus may be set by determining a type of a job to be performed in the image forming apparatus via NFC tagging of a mobile device, determining a first NFC operating mode corresponding to the determined type of the job from among a plurality of NFC operating modes supported by an NFC module, setting the determined first NFC operating mode as an operating state of the NFC module, and performing the job by tagging the mobile device via NFC by using the set first NFC operating mode.
Abstract:
A terminal device and a data transceiving method are provided. The terminal device includes a sensing unit which senses a momentum of the terminal device, an interface unit which receives a momentum from at least one external device, and a control unit which performs one of a data receiving operation, a data transmitting operation, and a data transceiving operation with the at least one external device depending on a comparison value obtained from a comparison of the sensed momentum with the received momentum to allow two devices to exchange data more easily.
Abstract:
A user key management method for a broadcast encryption includes assigning node path identifiers (IDs) to nodes arranged in sequence; assigning random seed value keys to the nodes according to the node path IDs; generating key values by repeatedly applying a hash function to the assigned random seed value keys; and assigning the generated key values to the nodes in sequence. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the transmission overhead that is most important matter in the broadcast encryption to less than the number of the revoked users. Further, there is an advantage that the transmission overhead of the exemplary embodiments of the present invention is remarkably reduced compared with the Subset Difference method.
Abstract:
Provided is a multi-function printer (MFP) supporting Wi-Fi Direct. The MFP includes a print engine to perform a printing operation, a first wireless interface to connect the MFP to an access point (AP) of an infrastructured network, a second wireless interface to connect the MFP to an external wireless terminal in a Wi-Fi Direct, a soft AP to allow the MFP to perform as an AP when the MFP is Wi-Fi Direct connected, and a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server unit allocating an internet protocol (IP) address to the wireless device that is Wi-Fi Direct connected to the MFP, where the MFP is simultaneously connected to an AP of the infrastructured network and an external wireless terminal via the first wireless interface and the second wireless interface by using one channel.

Abstract:
A method of registering use of a mobile terminal that supports a near field communication (NFC) function, to an image forming apparatus, the image forming apparatus using the method, a method of requesting registration of the use of the mobile terminal supporting the NFC function, and the mobile terminal using the method, which enable registration of use of the mobile terminal to the image forming apparatus without a manager when the mobile terminal performs initial NFC with the image forming apparatus by NFC tagging.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus to support a near field communication (NFC) function receives address book information stored in a user terminal by tagging the user terminal, and generates a quick menu in which image forming functions related to the received address book information are listed and displays the quick menu on a user interface unit.
