Abstract: A battery pack for starting an engine having an idle stop & go (ISG) system in which the engine is repeatedly stopped and restarted to conserve fuel. This battery pack includes: a rechargeable battery; a first ISG current control unit having a variable resistor electrically connected to the rechargeable battery; and a battery management system (BMS) electrically connected to the rechargeable battery and the first ISG current control unit, said BMS sets a resistance value of the variable resistor according to a current mode of the ISG system.
