Abstract: A computer implemented method for extended monitoring of a database includes establishing a data virtualization communications connection between a first and a second datacenter that is a copy of the first datacenter. Requests for monitoring information corresponding to the first datacenter are made by accessing its system views. Requests for monitoring information corresponding to the second datacenter are made by generating virtual tables on the first datacenter to provide the system views of the second datacenter to the first datacenter and accessing the virtual tables. The monitoring information corresponding to the first datacenter is grouped into a first schema on the first datacenter and the monitoring information corresponding to the second datacenter is grouped into a second schema, separate from the first schema. A union view is generated by combining the monitoring data associated with the two datacenters. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for monitoring databases includes providing views for monitoring information associated with a first datacenter and proxy views for monitoring information associated with a second datacenter. The first datacenter receives a query for monitoring information and parses the query to identify filter information that identifies which of the first or second datacenter the requested services are running on. If the filter information indicates the service is running on the first datacenter, the first datacenter queries the views to request the monitoring information from the server on the first datacenter running the requested service. If the filter information indicates the service is running on the second datacenter, the first datacenter queries the proxy views to request the monitoring information from the server on the second datacenter running the requested service, and receives the monitoring information. Abstract: In an example embodiment, a specialized in-memory database abstraction component is introduced in a cloud cluster. The in-memory database abstraction component may receive lifecycle commands from a client-facing application and interface with a container service to create an in-memory database resource. When parameters are received by the in-memory database abstraction component from the client-facing application, the in-memory database abstraction component may act to validate the parameters, determine if a service plan is available, and determine whether the parameters meet the service plan requirements. If the service plan requirements are not met, the in-memory database abstraction component translates the parameters for the in-memory database resource.
