摘要: It is known to retain a conical shoulder on the rear end of an extrusion press ram to a thrust member such as a cross-head by means of a retaining ring which has a conical recess in its rear face corresponding to a ram shoulder, the retaining ring being tightened towards the thrust member in some suitable manner. I now provide a generally square rear end on the ram shoulder and give the retaining member a generally square opening for receiving the ram shoulder, so that the ram can be secured to the thrust member by inserting the rear end portion of the shoulder through the opening and turning the ram through about 45* before tightening the retaining member towards the thrust member.

摘要: A horizontal hydraulic forging press has counter-acting forging pistons which are coupled so that the forging movements of the forging pistons are coupled together. The coupling is done by each forging piston having a step and a rearwardly-extending shank, at least two coupling-cylinder units being connected to each shank. For each shank, at least one piston-cylinder unit increases in volume and at least one piston-cylinder unit decreases in volume as the forging pistons make a forging stroke. The piston-cylinder unit which increases in volume is connected to a piston-cylinder unit which decreases in volume and is associated with the other piston, and vice versa, in order to obtain proper coupling.

摘要: A discharge chute is provided for removing an extrusion butt from a horizontal extrusion press, with the extrusion butt having been sheared off by a shear blade which moves downwards between the container and the extrusion die. The discharge chute is pivoted and is held against the bottom of the extrusion butt by a resilient force so that as the extrusion butt is sheared off, the discharge chute pivots downwards against the resilient force while remaining in contact with the bottom of the extrusion butt, with the extrusion butt subsequently passing down the discharge chute whereby any free-fall of the extension butt is avoided.

摘要: A drop forging press has a fixed table support and a press frame comprising four columns, eight crosspieces and a plurality of tie members, the columns being of hollow polygonal cross-section, each column and being connected at its top and at its bottom to both adjacent columns by said crosspieces, the crosspieces being arranged, both at the top and at the bottom of the press frame in a rectangular configuration as seen in plan, two of said crosspieces overlapping at each end of each column, the tie members passing through each pair of overlapping crosspieces into the respective end of the respective column to secure the crosspieces to the column. Wedges may be interposed in the frame firmly to brace it. The table support may be supported by a bending support via a piston and cylinder unit. The press frame may be capable of moving up and down.
