    Abstract: A technique facilitates use of a frac diverter instead of a frac plug in a variety of fracturing operations. The frac diverter has a simpler and less expensive construction. Although the frac diverter may not form a seal with the surrounding casing in some applications, the frac diverter is able to sufficiently restrict flow of fracturing fluid to enable a successful fracturing operation. The frac diverter may comprise arrangements of at least one cone, at least one slip ring, and at least one corresponding sub which work in cooperation with a flow restricting element. The flow restricting element may comprise various types of rings, e.g. sealing element rings, able to sufficiently restrict flow of fracturing fluid past the frac diverter.

    Abstract: A drillable plug includes a mandrel having an upper end and a lower axial section, the lower axial section having a geometry transition point separating an upper circular mandrel profile from a lower non-circular mandrel profile, a seal element disposed around the upper circular mandrel profile, and a lower cone having an inner surface forming a passage, the lower cone disposed around the lower non-circular mandrel profile whereby the lower cone is rotationally locked with the mandrel and a lower slip assembly moveably disposed on a sloped outer surface of the lower cone.

    Abstract: A technique facilitates deployment and operation of actuatable plugs, e.g. frac plugs or bridge plugs. According to one embodiment, the plug comprises a flexible element slidably mounted on a portion of a cone, e.g. an upper cone. The upper cone comprises a tapered surface which works in cooperation with upper slips movably secured to the upper cone. The bridge plug also comprises a lower cone which comprises a lower tapered surface which works in cooperation with lower slips movably secured to the lower cone. Depending on the application, the plug may be constructed with each of these features combined into an overall assembly or with a portion of these features to facilitate plug operation in a specific environment and operation.
