Abstract: A method for directional signal processing of signals of a microphone array, including first and second microphones generating first and second input signals from an ambient sound, uses the first input signal to form a reference signal transformed into the frequency domain, thereby generating a frequency-space reference signal. The first and second input signals are transformed into the frequency domain, and a first frequency-space directional signal is formed in the frequency domain using the transformed first and second input signals. A frequency-resolved comparison of the frequency-space reference signal with the first frequency-space directional signal or signal derived therefrom in the frequency domain, is used to generate frequency-dependent first gain factors to generate a time filter in the time domain. The reference signal is filtered by the time filter and an output signal is generated from the reference signal filtered by the time filter.

Abstract: A method for operating a hearing device is specified. The hearing device has at least one microphone that picks up an input sound signal and converts it into an electrical input signal. The hearing device has a signal processing section that modifies the electrical input signal on the basis of an audiogram of a user and thereby generates a first electrical output signal. The hearing device has an active noise reduction system that generates a second electrical output signal in order to reject a noise component. The hearing device has a receiver that converts the first electrical output signal and the second electrical output signal into an output sound signal, for output to the user. The active noise reduction system is operated in parallel with the signal processing section. A corresponding hearing device is programmed to perform the method.

Abstract: A method operates a hearing device in present surroundings such that noise cancellation of the hearing device is activated, so that ambient sounds are reduced for a user of the hearing device. A desired value for the voice volume of the user is determined for the present surroundings. An actual value for the voice volume of the user is measured. If the actual value is lower than the desired value, the hearing device takes a measure to prompt the user to speak more loudly. Additionally, a hearing device is configured to implement the method.

Abstract: The phase responses of a first and a second microphone are adjusted with first and second filters that filter their microphone signals. The first filter corresponds to a first contribution to a phase shift between the microphones and includes a first adaptation parameter. The second filter corresponds to a second contribution to the phase shift and has a second adaptation parameter. A global filter, which is formed with the first and second filters, represents the first and second contributions to the phase shift and includes the first and second adaptation parameters. The global filter determines a first value for the first adaptation parameter and a second value for the second adaptation parameter via a multidimensional optimization. The phase responses are adjusted by applying the first filter and the second filter to at least one of the microphone signals with the adaptation parameters set to the first and second values, respectively.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus reduce feedback in a hearing aid device. The method includes the step of acquiring a first feedback transfer function at a first point in time on a feedback path from a signal processing device via an electro-acoustic transducer, an acoustic signal path from the electro-acoustic transducer to an acousto-electric transducer and via the acousto-electric transducer back to the signal processing device. In a further step, a weighted mean value function is determined in a manner dependent on amplitude absolute values of the first feedback transfer function. A second feedback transfer function is estimated by an adaptive filter, wherein coefficients of the adaptive filter are determined in a manner dependent on the weighted mean value function. The adaptive filter is applied to a signal which is derived from an acoustic input signal of the acousto-electric transducer.

Abstract: A system response of an individual listener's brain to a sound signal stimulus is estimated. The system response represents the generation of an electroencephalography signal measured at a given measuring point of the listener's head by the sound signal stimulus. A sound signal with the sound signal stimulus is presented to the ear of the listener. An audio signal corresponding to the sound signal is generated, and audio signal data is extracted from the audio signal with a measuring electrode that measures an electroencephalography training signal. A measurement data set is generated from the first electroencephalography training signal. A noise signal is measured on the listener's head while the first sound signal impinges on the listener's ear. A Gaussian conditional probability density function taken as the system response of the listener's brain to the sound signal stimulus, with respect to the given measurement point.

Abstract: A method reduces echo in a hearing instrument. A first input transducer generates a first input signal from ambient sound. A communication unit receives an external input signal from an external device. The first input signal and the external input signal are used to generate an output signal. The output signal is used in a first filter to generate a compensation signal for reducing echo and/or acoustic feedback. The first input signal and the compensation signal are used to generate an error signal. Filter coefficients of the first filter and/or a comparison of the error signal with the compensation signal and/or with the first input signal are/is used to generate a control variable. The control variable is taken as a basis for applying a second filter for rejecting a residual echo or a residual feedback to an intermediate signal derived from the input signal, and a transmission signal is generated.

Abstract: An input signal is provided with a low microphone noise in a hearing apparatus. The microphone noise in the input signal of the hearing apparatus is reduced, by the input signal being filtered by a Wiener filter, if a noise power determined at the input signal is smaller than a predetermined limit value. The Wiener filter is however deactivated, if the noise power is greater than the limit value or equal to the limit value.
