Abstract:
A method and a device for guiding and centering a metallic rolling stock in a rolling mill having at least one assembly that is arranged in a rolling line and at least one rolling mill stand for shaping the rolling stock are disclosed. The method includes the use of lateral guide means, which exert a lateral force onto the moving rolling stock at different locations of the rolling line, wherein the method further includes the process of centering the inflow of the rolling stock ahead of a first assembly and/or ahead of a first rolling mill stand of the rolling mill using first lateral guide means and the process of aligning rolling stock downstream transversely to the rolling line using second lateral guide means, wherein the process of centering the inflow includes a funnel-shaped, flat guiding of the rolling stock and a point-shaped guiding of the rolling stock.
Abstract:
A method and a device for producing a metallic strip by continuous casting-rolling, wherein a slab is cast in a casting machine and then sent to a finishing mill located downstream, relative to the transport direction of the strip. In the event that the transport of the slab or strip comes to a complete or substantially complete standstill, the following steps are carried out: (a) cutting through the strip at a first point; (b) cutting through the strip at a second point that is 0.1-5.0 m upstream from the first point; (c) removing the cut-out piece of strip to create a gap in the strip; (d) conveying new strip material into the area of the gap from the area located upstream of the first point; and (e) cutting off pieces of the new strip material conveyed from upstream according to step (d) and removing the pieces from the transport line.
Abstract:
A method for operating a rolling line with rolling mill stands arranged one behind the other in the rolling direction, for the rolling of rolling material from a previous final rolling dimension to a changed new final rolling dimension is disclosed. According to the method, the rolling is carried out in two temporal phases I and II. In the first temporal phase, the rolling is carried out with a first load redistribution with known wedge-on-wedge rolling. In the first load redistribution the last rolling mill stand maintains its previously set gap unchanged. To shorten a transition time and wedge length during a transition, the rolling mill stands drive pass changes in accordance with a second load redistribution. The second load redistribution, differently than in the first temporal phase I, dynamically drives the last rolling mill stand to the new final rolling dimension.

Abstract:
A method for rolling a rolling material in a rolling mill comprising at least one roll stand. A gap height of a rolling gap arranged between working rolls of the roll stand is set to be smaller than an in-feed thickness of the rolling material before contact of the rolling material with the working rolls. At least one driven working roll of the roll stand is driven at a desired rotational speed once the rolling material has reached the rolling gap, and the driven working roll is operated at a feed-forward rotational speed deviating from the desired rotational speed, until the rolling material reaches the rolling gap.
Abstract:
An apparatus for winding up a metal strip into a coil. A frame in which a second counter-bending roller is mounted in a rotatable manner. The frame is movable with the aid of a second setting device between a coiler shaft position and a roller bed position. In the roller bed position, the second counter-bending roller alongside a first counter-bending roller acts as the roller bed roller of a roller bed which is arranged above the coiling device.
