    Abstract: There is provided an information processing apparatus that self position estimation with high robustness is possible, the information processing apparatus including: a tracking unit, a region estimation unit, and an estimation processing unit. The tracking unit that acquires an image captured by an image capture unit disposed at a moving object, and corresponds characteristic points included in the image captured before movement and the image captured after the movement, the moving object moving accompanying a rotation motion. The region estimation unit that acquires information about the movement, and estimates regions where two-dimensional positions of the characteristic points are less changed viewed from the moving object before and after the movement of the moving object on the basis of the information. The estimation processing unit that performs self position estimation of the moving object using the characteristic points within the regions corresponded by the tracking unit.

    Abstract: There is provided an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program with which highly accurate depth information can be acquired. The information processing apparatus includes an interpolation image generation unit, a difference image generation unit, and a depth calculation unit. The interpolation image generation unit generates an interpolation image on the basis of a first normal image and a second normal image among the first normal image, a pattern image irradiated with infrared pattern light, and the second normal image, the interpolation image corresponding to a time at which the pattern image is captured. The difference image generation unit generates a difference image between the interpolation image and the pattern image. The depth calculation unit calculates depth information by using the difference image.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an HMD, a control method for the head mounted display, an information processor, a display device, and a program that make it possible to estimate camera parameters of a camera mounted in the HMD without the awareness of a user wearing the HMD. At a timing when the HMD is displaying content including a VR image or an AR image, the camera mounted in the HMD captures an image of a calibration pattern displayed on an external display, executes calibration on the basis of the captured image of the calibration pattern, and estimates the camera parameters. At this time, the calibration pattern displayed on the external display is displayed with dimensions according to a positional relationship between the HMD and the external display. The present disclosure is applicable to the HMD.

    Provided are a selection unit that selects, from a horizontal camera mounted in a horizontal direction and a downward camera mounted in a downward direction, a camera used for self-localization depending on speed, and a self-localization unit that performs self-localization using an image obtained by imaging with the horizontal camera or the downward camera selected by the selection unit. The selection unit selects the horizontal camera in a case where the speed is equal to or higher than a predetermined speed, and selects the downward camera in a case where the speed is not equal to or higher than the predetermined speed. The present technology can be applied to a self-localization system.
