Provided is a demodulation device including a demodulation unit configured to demodulate a first transmission packet obtained from a broadcast signal, and an output unit configured to output a divided packet via a predetermined interface, the divided packet being obtained by dividing the first transmission packet that is a variable-length packet used in a first transmission method into a packet length according to a second transmission packet that is a fixed-length packet used in a second transmission method and arranging the first transmission packet in a payload, and adding a header including information for restoring the first transmission packet to the payload. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a demodulation IC incorporated in a television receiver or a set top box.-

摘要: The present technology relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a transmission apparatus, and a transmission method permitting provision of an emergency warning service more suited to actual operation.
Provided is a reception apparatus including a reception section and a demodulation section. The reception section receives a physical layer frame transported as a broadcast signal on the basis of monitoring information that is included in upper layer signalling, signalling in a layer higher than a physical layer, and that is used to monitor a specific service. The demodulation section demodulates physical layer signalling acquired from the physical layer frame and monitors whether emergency warning information has been transported on the basis of emergency warning notice information acquired as a result of the demodulation. In the case where the emergency warning notice information indicates that the emergency warning information has been transported, the reception apparatus starts up automatically. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a transport system for transporting a physical layer frame compliant with the DVB-T2 standard.-

摘要: A reception apparatus includes a demodulation circuit configured to demodulate packets obtained with respect to each of multiple PLPs included in a broadcast signal; and a processing circuit configured to process the packets demodulated by the demodulation circuit. The demodulation circuit and the processing circuit are connected with each other via a single interface or interfaces fewer than the number of the PLPs. The demodulation circuit adds identification information to a specific packet among the packets obtained with respect to each of the PLP, the identification information identifying the PLP to which each of the packets belongs. The processing circuit identifies the PLP to which belongs each of the packets input from the demodulation circuit via the single interface or the interfaces fewer than the number of the PLPs, based on the identification information obtained from the specific packet.

The transmission device generates and transmits an OFDM signal in which additional information of a physical layer is allocated to additional carriers in each of groups, the groups being obtained by grouping the additional carriers to be used for transmission of the additional information, of carriers of the OFDM signal of one frame, into the groups of the number of groups according to a DFT size of when IDFT of the OFDM signal is performed. The reception device receives the OFDM signal, and acquires the additional information corresponding to the number of groups according to the DFT size from the OFDM signal. The present technology can be applied to, for example, transmission and reception of the OFDM signal.-
