Abstract: A vehicular lamp includes: a light source; a projection optical system that projects light emitted from the light source forward; a liquid crystal element arranged at a rear focal point of the projection optical system; a first polarizing plate disposed in an optical path between the liquid crystal element and the projection optical system, for transmitting light of a specific polarization component; a condensing optical system that condenses the light toward the liquid crystal element; a polarizing beam splitter that transmits first light with one polarization component and reflects and separates second light with the other polarization component; a reflective optical system that reflects the first light toward the liquid crystal element; and a polarization rotation element that rotates a polarization direction of one of the first light and the second light to coincide with the other light in terms of a polarization direction thereof.

Abstract: Provided is a vehicular headlight that is capable of generating a clear light distribution pattern using a monolithic array light source of surface emitting lasers. The vehicular headlight 1a includes a VCSEL array 5, an image generation unit including a lens array 6 which outputs incident light from the VCSEL array 5 as collimated light so that an image of a light distribution pattern as an illuminance distribution is generated on an output side, a light distribution pattern forming unit 7 having an image forming surface on which the image is formed by the incident light from the image generation unit, and a projection unit 8 outputting the incident light from the light distribution pattern forming unit to an irradiation region in front of the vehicle.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a vehicle light fixture system capable of controlling an optical axis of a vehicle light fixture, without preparing a dedicated light source. A vehicle light fixture system including: circuitry configured to detect a position of a masking target object present in front of a vehicle; set, based on the position of the masking target object, a non-illumination area in which the masking target object is not illuminated; control the vehicle light fixture unit to illuminate an illumination area other than the non-illumination area; store in advance a position of a reference spot pattern that is formed, on a screen disposed ahead of the vehicle, by light emitted from the vehicle light fixture unit installed on the vehicle, in a state in which an optical axis is aligned with a designed optical axis; calculate a misalignment amount; and store the misalignment amount.
