Abstract: A headlamp includes a plurality of first light sources for projecting a high beam, a plurality of second light sources for projecting a low beam, a first light guide, and a second light guide. The first light guide has a plurality of light entry surfaces arranged side by side for receiving light emitted from the first light sources and a first light exit surface. The second light guide has a plurality of light entry surfaces arranged side by side for receiving light emitted from the second light sources and a second light exit surface. At least a first one of the light entry surfaces of either the first light guide or the second light guide has a greater width in the direction in which the light entry surfaces are arranged than at least a second one of the light entry surfaces.

Abstract: Presented are intelligent electronic footwear with controller automated features, methods for making/using such footwear, and control systems for executing automated features of intelligent electronic footwear. An intelligent electronic shoe (IES) includes an upper that attaches to a user's foot, and a sole structure that is attached to the upper and supports thereon the user's foot. An alert system, which is mounted to the sole structure and/or upper, generates predetermined outputs in response to electronic command signals. The IES system also includes a wireless communications device that wirelessly communicates with a remote computing node, and a footwear controller that communicates with the wireless communications device and alert system. The footwear controller receives location data indicative of the user's and remote computing node's locations, determines whether the user's location is within a predetermined location/proximity to the node's location and, if so, transmits command signals to the alert system to notify the user/vehicle.

Abstract: A method is provided for projecting a guide line onto a road surface. An anticipated trajectory of the motor vehicle is calculated from the speed and steering angle of the motor vehicle. A guide line is projected onto a road surface in front of the motor vehicle. The guide line indicates the anticipated travel path. Whether the motor vehicle is starting a curve is detected based on the steering angle. The guide line contains the shape of a first clothoid in at least a first segment when it is detected that the motor vehicle is starting to travel in a curve.

Abstract: An automotive lighting device, a vehicle and a method for operating an automotive lighting device are described. To economically fulfil different lighting functions the automotive lighting device includes a first and a second lighting unit. The first lighting unit is disposed to emit a first light of a first colour. The second lighting unit is disposed to emit a second light of a second colour different from the first colour. A mixing space is arranged to merge the first light and the second light to a third light of a third colour. The third light is disposed to fulfil a first automotive lighting function and the second light is disposed to fulfil a second automotive lighting function. The first automotive lighting function requires a colour within a first colour range and the second automotive lighting function requires a colour within a second colour range which is different from the first colour range. The third colour is within the first colour range and the second colour is within the second colour range.

Abstract: A vehicle lamp system includes an illuminance variable lamp, a lamp-mounted camera, and a lamp control unit. After acquiring position information of a low accuracy region from a vehicle control unit, the lamp control unit acquires illuminance of the low accuracy region by referring to information acquired by the lamp-mounted camera, controls the illuminance variable lamp so as to increase the illuminance of the low accuracy region if the illuminance of the low accuracy region is less than a threshold, and/or controls the illuminance variable lamp so as to decrease the illuminance of the low accuracy region if the illuminance of the low accuracy region is equal to or greater than the threshold.

Abstract: A coordinated multi-vehicle lighting system includes a remote coordination system and at least two vehicles. Each vehicle has a light installation that includes a front light, a rear light, a navigation module, and a controller in operable communication with the front light, the rear light, and the navigation module. Location data from the navigation module is provided to the remote coordination system, and the remote coordination system determines a status for each vehicle by comparing the location data from the vehicle to the location data from each of the other vehicles. The remote coordination system transmits the status of each vehicle to the controller of that vehicle. For each vehicle, the controller is programmed to selectively reduce an illumination of the front light and of the rear light according to the status of the vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicle light assembly including one or more movable light signature members that are selectively translated from a first position partially or wholly in front of conventional light units (low beams, high beams, taillights, etc.) to a second position away from the light units when the light units are in use. Thus, for example, the movable light signature member(s) can include one or more LEDs or the like that are illuminated to act as daytime running lights, turn signal indicators, accessory lights, etc. when they are disposed in front of the light units and when the low beams, high beams, or taillights are not in use. This provides the desired light signature. When the low beams, high beams, or taillights are in use, the movable light signature member(s) are translated out of the way, such that the light units are visible adjacent to and/or between the movable light signature member(s).
