Abstract: A process for the preparation of oligomers especially of 1,3diolefins which comprises contacting an olefinic feed with a carbonyl free 0-valent nickel complex catalyst containing 1 to 4 electron donor constituents in the presence of morpholine or a specified amine which amine is present in an excess beyond that which has been bonded to the nickel in the 0-valent nickel complex catalyst.
