    Abstract: A display device may include a display panel including a plurality of pixel rows, a power supply providing a power voltage to the display panel, and an overcurrent protector shutting down the power supply when at least one of the pixel rows is burnt. The overcurrent protector may include a sensing controller sensing a first current of at least one first pixel row of the display panel in a first frame period, and sensing a second current of the first pixel row in a second frame period after the first frame period when the first current is greater than or equal to a first threshold value. The overcurrent protector may further include a burnt determiner determining whether the first pixel row is burnt, and providing a shutdown signal to the power supply when the first pixel row is burnt.

    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a timing controller, a data driver and a display panel. The timing controller generates a mode selection signal and output image data in response to input image data. The data driver generates first through N-th data voltages in response to the mode selection signal and the output image data and applies the first through N-th data voltages to first through N-th data lines. The display panel is connected to the first through N-th data lines. During the first operation mode, each of a polarity pattern of first through M-th data voltages and a polarity pattern of (M+1)-th through N-th data voltages repeats a first polarity pattern.     Abstract: A display device may compensate for such changes in characteristics of light emitting elements and transistors in pixels of a display. For example, a driving circuit of a display device may update a lookup table that stores one or more compensation values. Each compensation value may correspond to a characteristic change of a pixel. In some embodiments, the characteristic change of a transistor may be determined based on a sensing signal received from a dummy pixel. Accordingly, a display device may generate a compensation signal based on an actual characteristic change of the transistor in the pixel. The compensation signal may be used by the display device to compensate for pixel characteristic changes that occur over time. For instance, a display device may use such compensation signals to correct input signals (e.g., to generate a corrected output signal) to be applied to one or more pixels of a display.
