    Abstract: A display panel driving device includes a control signal generator which outputs a driving control signal, a driving unit which receives the driving control signal to output a panel driving signal, a protection circuit unit which receives a feedback current from the control signal generator and compares the feedback current with a reference current to perform a protection operation based on a result of comparison of the feedback current with the reference current, a temperature sensor which senses an ambient temperature, a controller which outputs a selection signal variable depending on the sensed ambient temperature, and a protection operation setting unit which sets a condition of the protection operation in response to the selection signal.

    Abstract: A backlight unit includes a power converter which generates a light source power voltage to a power node, a first light emitting diode string connected between the power node and a first node to receive the light source power voltage through the power node, a second light emitting diode string connected between the power node and a second node to receive the light source power voltage through the power node, and a current controller which controls a current flowing through the first node of the first light emitting diode string and a current flowing through the second node of the second light emitting diode string in response to a dimming voltage signal. The current controller includes a switching unit which electrically connects the first node of the first light emitting diode string to the second node of the second light emitting diode string in response to a mode enable signal.

    Abstract: Provided is a backlight unit. According to an exemplary embodiment, the backlight unit includes a plurality of light emitting strings, each of which includes at least one light emitting diode and one light transistor that is electrically connected to the light emitting diode, and a driving controller configured to detect source voltages of a plurality of light transistors provided in the light emitting strings. The driving controller is further configured to compare a source voltage of each of the light transistors with an overcurrent protection voltage and to turn off an operation of a corresponding light transistor having a source voltage level higher than the overcurrent protection voltage.
