    Abstract: A display device includes a substrate including a display area including emission areas and a light blocking area; and a non-display area adjacent to the display area; a thin-film transistor layer disposed on the substrate and including thin-film transistors; a light-emitting element layer disposed on the thin-film transistor layer and including light-emitting elements; a wavelength conversion layer disposed on the light-emitting element layer that converts a peak wavelength of a light from at least a part of the of light-emitting elements; and a color filter layer disposed on the wavelength conversion layer, and including color filters corresponding to the emission areas and a first light blocking part corresponding to the light blocking area and the non-display area. A transmittance of the first light blocking part with respect to a light having a wavelength of about 1000 nm or more is about 80% or more.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display area and a seal area which surrounds the display area. The display device includes a first display substrate, a second display substrate facing the first display substrate; and a sealant disposed between the first display substrate and the second display substrate, in the seal area. The first display substrate has a first base substrate, a first polarizing element including a plurality of first linear patterns extending along a first direction on the first base substrate, and a first protective layer on the first polarizing element and including a first opening. The sealant covers the first opening.     Abstract: A liquid-crystal display device includes: a first substrate comprising a plurality of pixels; a pixel electrode disposed on the first substrate in each of the pixels; a second substrate including a surface facing the first substrate; a wavelength conversion layer and a transmissive layer disposed on the surface of the second substrate facing the first substrate; and a liquid-crystal layer disposed between the pixel electrode and the wavelength conversion layer and between the pixel electrode and the transmissive layer, wherein the pixel electrode includes a stem electrode and a plurality of branch electrodes extending from the stem electrode, and wherein all of the plurality of branch electrodes extending from the stem electrode extend in a same direction.
