A display apparatus includes a display panel and a first protection member which accommodates the display panel. The first protection member includes first sidewalls facing each other and second sidewalls connected to ends of the first sidewalls to face each other. The first and second sidewalls are disposed to surround a side surface of the display panel, the first sidewalls are curved symmetrical to each other, and a distance between central portions of the first sidewalls facing each other is a minimum distance between the first sidewalls, and a distance between ends of the first sidewalls facing each other is a maximum distance between the first sidewalls.

A curved display device includes a display panel having a curved shape and including a display area having a curved surface, and a backlight assembly providing a light to the display panel. The backlight assembly includes at least one light source arranged to emit the light and a light guiding member positioned and arranged to guide the light to the display panel. The light guiding member includes at least two light guiding parts spaced apart from each other with a gap therebetween, the light source being disposed in the gap.

The guide member uniformly maintains a distance between the light incident surface and the light emitting devices. Thus, a light loss is reduced.
