摘要: The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display that can improve an aperture ratio and liquid crystal control ability. A liquid crystal display according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a first substrate and a second substrate which face each other; a pixel electrode disposed on the first substrate; a common electrode disposed on the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, in which the common electrode has a first cutout having a cross shape, and the pixel electrode includes a first subpixel electrode having a rhombus shape, a second subpixel electrode surrounding the first subpixel electrode, a second cutout disposed close to and along at least one of the edges of the second subpixel electrode, and a third cutout spacing the first subpixel electrode and the second subpixel electrode.

摘要: Provided is a liquid crystal display, including: a first substrate; a pixel electrode disposed on the first substrate; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a common electrode disposed on the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, the liquid crystal layer including a plurality of liquid crystal molecules, in which the common electrode includes a cross-shaped cutout, the cross-shaped cutout overlapping the pixel electrode and dividing the pixel electrode into a plurality of subregions, and the pixel electrode includes a direction controller extend in a direction parallel to a line connecting an intersecting point of the cross-shaped cutout and a pixel corner edge opposing the intersecting point.

摘要: A curved display device includes a display substrate, an opposite substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the display substrate and the opposite substrate. The display substrate is curved along a first direction and includes a pixel electrode and a second alignment layer disposed on the pixel electrode. The opposite substrate is coupled to the display substrate to be curved along the first direction and includes a common electrode and a first alignment layer disposed on the common electrode. The first alignment layer comprises different material from the second alignment layer. The pixel electrode includes branch portions extending in a direction inclined with respect to the first direction when viewed in a plan view, and a pitch, which is defined by a sum of a width of each branch portion and a distance between the branch portions, is within a range from about 7.5 micrometers to about 8.5 micrometers.

摘要: A liquid crystal display having a curved surface includes: a display panel including a first display panel, a second display panel, and a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween and including liquid crystal molecules. The first display panel includes a first substrate on which a plurality of gate lines and data lines are formed, a first electrode, and a pixel electrode. The second display panel includes a second substrate facing the first substrate and a second electrode. The liquid crystal display further includes a common voltage supplier applying two voltages having a predetermined voltage difference to the first and second electrodes within a period before a frame displaying an image on the display panel; a gate driver applying a gate signal to each of the gate lines after the period; and a data driver applying a data voltage to the pixel electrode corresponding to the gate signal.

摘要: A display device may include a common electrode, a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode, an insulation layer, and a liquid crystal layer. The first pixel electrode overlaps the common electrode. The second pixel electrode is electrically connected to the first pixel electrode and is positioned between the first pixel electrode and the common electrode. A first portion of the second pixel electrode does not overlap the first pixel electrode in a direction perpendicular to the common electrode. A second portion of the second pixel electrode overlaps a first portion of the first pixel electrode. A second portion of the first pixel electrode does not overlap the second pixel electrode in the direction perpendicular to the common electrode. The insulating layer is positioned between the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode. The liquid crystal layer is positioned between the common electrode and the second pixel electrode.
