    Abstract: Provided is an inverter for reducing electric power consumption and noise. The inverter comprises: a driving unit including three switching elements included in an upper arm and connected in a three-phase bridge configuration and three switching elements included in a lower arm and connected in a three-phase bridge configuration, and converting input direct current power into three-phase alternating current power and then outputting the alternating current power to a three-phase load; and at least one processor for maintaining one of the three switching elements, which are included in the upper arm, in an on-state in a first period, maintaining one of the three switching elements, which are included in the lower arm, in an on-state in a second period, and driving the driving unit in a two-phase modulation method by alternately repeating the first period and the second period, wherein the at least one processor turns on all of the three switching elements at a crest of a carrier wave in the first period, and the at least one processor turns off all of the three switching elements at a crest of a carrier wave in the second period.

    Abstract: An apparatus that reduces leakage current and noise in various environments. The apparatus includes a motor, an inverter to supply power to the motor and a plurality of switching elements configured to convert input DC power into three-phase AC power, and a processor to control the plurality of switching elements. The processor generates a carrier, obtains a rising and falling edge timing of a PWM control signal of each phase based on superposition of a zero phase voltage, and drives a motor by shifting the PWM control signal of each phase to allow a rising edge timing and a falling edge timing of a PWM control signal of one phase among the PWM control signal of the each phase to be different from a rising edge timing and a falling edge timing of a PWM control signal of other phase among the PWM control signal of the each phase.

    Abstract: A washing machine is provided. The washing machine includes an inner tub, a motor connected to the inner tub through a rotating shaft, an inverter circuit operatively connected to the motor and comprising three pairs of bridged switching elements, and at least one processor configured to provide a modulation signal to the inverter circuit to turn on or off the three pairs of bridged switching elements so as to convert DC power into AC power. The at least one processor is further configured to provide the modulation signal to two pairs of switching elements among the three pairs of bridged switching elements for a first time period in a first mode, provide the modulation signal to the three pairs of bridged switching elements for a second time period in a second mode, ad alternately perform the first mode and the second mode.

    Abstract: In any type of washing machine, an amount of laundry introduced into the washing machine may be measured in a short time with high accuracy. A washing machine includes a rotational spin tub into which laundry is introduced; a driving unit including a motor for rotating the spin tub; and at least one processor configured to control the driving unit to rotate the spin tub at first rotational speed, control the driving unit to rotate the spin tub at second rotational speed, and identify weight of the laundry based on acceleration at the time of changing of rotational speed of the spin tub from the first rotational speed to the second rotational speed and the second rotational speed.
