    Abstract: A method and an electronic device are provided for establishing, at a first electronic device, a communication link between the first electronic device and a second electronic device in a Near Field Communication (NFC) network. The method includes sending, to the second electronic device, a discovery request for discovery of one or more services registered in the second electronic device; receiving, from the second electronic device, a discovery response including a parameter list for the one or more services registered in the second electronic device; and establishing a logical link control protocol (LLCP) link between the first electronic device and the second electronic device based on the discovery response. Each of the discovery request and the discovery response is formed in a logical link control (LLC) protocol data unit (PDU).
