Abstract: An electronic device according to various embodiments can include: a first image sensor; a second image sensor electrically connected to the first image sensor through a first designated interface; and a processor connected to the first image sensor through a second designated interface and connected to the second image sensor through a third designated interface, wherein the processor can be set to obtain, from the second image sensor, a second image outputted through the third designated interface, and obtain, from the first image sensor, a first image outputted through the second designated interface, in response to a signal provided to the first image sensor through the first designated interface at the starting time of the output of the second image.

Abstract: A portable communication device configured to activate an image capturing function of a camera module. When the image capturing function is activated, use an image sensor to obtain first raw image data including a specified channel pattern, generated by binning image data obtained from the specified number of image pixels corresponding to the same channel. Display a first image generated based on the first raw image data on a display. While the image capturing function is activated, receive an input associated with adjustment of a zoom setting. Use the image sensor to obtain second raw image data having the specified channel pattern, generated by re-mosaicing image data obtained from some of the plurality of image pixels corresponding to a portion of the image sensor based on the input. Display a second image generated based on the second raw image data on the display.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided and includes an image sensor including a plurality of unit pixels including a first unit pixel and a second unit pixel, the first unit pixel including a first micro-lens, a first color filter disposed under the first micro-lens, and a first photodiode-array disposed under the first color filter and including a plurality of photodiodes arranged in a same number of columns and rows as each other, and the second unit pixel including a second micro-lens, a second color filter disposed under the second micro-lens and having a different color from that of the first color filter, and a second photodiode-array disposed under the second color filter and including a plurality of photodiodes arranged in a same number of columns and rows as each other; and a processor operatively coupled with the image sensor, wherein the processor is configured to identify a mode corresponding to an auto-focus function; if the mode is identified as a first mode, perform the auto-focus function based at least in part on comparing a first combined signal generated by combining signals obtained from a first column of the first photodiode-array with a second combined signal generated by combining signals obtained from a second column of the first photodiode-array; if the mode is identified as a second mode different from the first mode, perform the auto-focus function based at least in part on comparing the first combined signal with the second combined signal and comparing a third combined signal generated by combining signals obtained from a first row of the first photodiode-array with a fourth combined signal generated by combining signals obtained from a second row of the first photodiode-array; and generate an image signal based at least in part on signals obtained from the first unit pixel and the second unit pixel while the auto-focus function is performed according to a one of the first mode and the second mode.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, an electronic device may include a first light emitter comprising first light emitting circuitry configured to output light of a first wave bandwidth, a second light emitter comprising second light emitting circuitry configured to output light of a second wave bandwidth, a camera including an image sensor configured to arrange one or more first pixels for sensing the light corresponding to the first wave bandwidth and the second wave bandwidth and one or more second pixels for sensing the light corresponding to the second wave bandwidth, and a processor. The processor may be configured to control the electronic device to output the first wave bandwidth light using a first light source and the second wave bandwidth light using a second light source, and a control circuit electrically coupled to the image sensor and connected to an application processor through a designated interface. The control circuit may be configured to obtain image data of an external object using the camera from the first wave bandwidth light and the second wave bandwidth light reflected from the external object, to generate first image data of the external object using a difference between first pixel data corresponding to the one or more first pixels and second pixel data corresponding to the one or more second pixels of the image data, to generate second image data of the external object by binning the second pixel data corresponding to the one or more second pixels of the image data, and to transmit the first image data and the second image data to the processor through the designated interface, wherein the processor is configured to generate authentication information based on the first image data and to generate depth information using the second image data.

The processor is configured to receive a first user input, enable the security processing module, determine whether the image sensor module is enabled using the enabled security processing module, when the image sensor module is enabled, at least temporarily block reception of an image from the image sensor module, when the image sensor module is disabled, enable the image sensor module using the enabled security processing module, request the image sensor module to obtain the security image for the external object, and receive the security image for the external object, obtained from the image sensor module.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an electronic device including a camera module and a method for controlling the electronic device. According to various embodiments of the present invention, a camera module may comprise: an image sensor comprising a first pixel comprising multiple first light reception units and a second pixel comprising multiple second light reception units; and a calculation unit functionally connected to the image sensor and capable of measuring depth information, wherein the calculation unit is configured to: acquire a first signal corresponding to a first part of an external object, using the multiple first light reception units, and a second signal corresponding to a second part of the external object, using the multiple second light reception units; identify first phase difference information corresponding to the first signal and second phase difference information corresponding to the second signal; determine location information of the first part and the second part, at least on the basis of the first phase difference information and the second phase difference information; and provide the location information to an external processor of the camera module connected to the calculation unit.
