Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a memory configured to store a high-speed video captured with a first number of frames per second and a processor configured to be electrically connected with the memory. The processor is configured to detect an amount of image variation based on at least one of the first number of frames and generate a slow motion interval, a playback time of which is extended, by dividing or sampling the first number of frames into a second number of frames which are less than the first number of frames with respect to a video interval having an amount of image variation which meets a specified condition.

According to various example embodiments of the present disclosure, an electronic device may include: a camera module including a camera; a display; a memory; and a processor operatively coupled to the camera module, the display, and the memory, wherein the processor is configured to acquire an image through the camera module in response to entering a capture mode, to display the acquired image as a preview image through the display, to acquire a still picture from the image in response to an operational instruction for capturing the still picture, to acquire a video from at least one part of the preview image, to generate a still picture file of an image format based on the still picture and a video, and store the still picture file in the memory.

The electronic device includes a camera module, a memory module, and a processor operatively coupled with the camera module and the memory module. The processor acquires an image through the camera module, extracts distance information based on the acquired image, determines an image processing technique for an object based on the extracted distance information, applies the determined image processing technique to the acquired image to generate a new image, and displays the new image.
