The present disclosure relates to a 5G or a pre-5G communication system to be provided in order to support a higher data transmission rate than a 4G communication system such as LTE. The present invention provides a method for receiving, by a terminal, a mobile end service in a communication system, the method including: a step of ascertaining whether there exists a continuously available service among services which have been provided from a serving base station, on the basis of a list of supported services received from a target base station; and in the case that there exists a continuously available service, a step of transmitting a service area update request to the target base station via a connection layer if the continuously available service supports a mobile end service.

The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system to be provided for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G communication system such as an LTE. The present invention relates to a method by which a proxy sets an initial window value in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: splitting a transmission control protocol (TCP) connection between a terminal and a server; extracting the information related to the terminal from the data received from the terminal; and setting the initial window value on the basis of a round trip time (RTT) value and a throughput value for each of terminal groups grouped on the basis of the information related to the terminal.

The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system that is provided so as to support higher data transmission rates after 4G communication systems such as LTE. In addition, the present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for configuring a disconnected TCP connection in a communication system, and a handover support method and apparatus therefor. The method for a TCP proxy configuring a TCP connection in a communication system according to the present disclosure comprises the steps of: configuring a tunnel for receiving/transmitting data with a base station; and according to a TCP connection request by a terminal, configuring a first TCP connection between the terminal and the TCP proxy, and configuring a second TCP connection between the TCP proxy and a service server of an IP network.

An electronic device and method for controlling locking of an electronic device are disclosed. An electronic device includes a short-range communication unit for performing short-range communication and a controller for controlling locking of the electronic device by using an RSSI value of a counterpart electronic device connected by short-range communication through the short-range communication unit and a transmission strength value of the counterpart electronic device to control the locking of the electronic device.

A method of reconnecting communication with a second device by a first device in short-range wireless communication is provided. The method includes, when it is determined that a link loss is generated at a link with the second device, adjusting a scanning period of advertisement data broadcasted by the second device and a size of a scan window in which the scanning is performed, according to a time during which the link loss continues; and scanning the advertisement data at each of the adjusted scanning periods in the scan window corresponding to the adjusted size.
