Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for providing integrity protection in a dual subscriber identity module (SIM) dual standby (DSDS) device. A first message is received on a first SIM of the DSDS device before a radio resource of the DSDS device is tuned away from the first SIM to a second SIM by performing a tune-away procedure. A second message is received after completion of the tune-away procedure. The second message is validated. It is determined whether a first payload of the first message matches a second payload of the second message, when the first message and the second message have a same message sequence number. It is determined that the second message is a duplicate message, when the first payload matches the second payload.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for providing service recovery at a user equipment (UE) of a mobile communication network. The UE establishes a call in a first public land mobile network (PLMN). A handover zone of the first PLMN and a second PLMN is entered. The second PLMN is in a forbidden PLMN list of the UE. The UE receives a dedicated message with an indication of the second PLMN. The second PLMN is removed from the forbidden PLMN list. The UE performs registration with the second PLMN so that services of the second PLMN are available to the UE.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for supporting emergency communications are provided. A method for a Radio Access Network (RAN) serving at least one Core Network (CN) to support emergency communications of a User Equipment (UE) includes determining whether at least one CN in a shared network environment supports emergency communications, if it is determined that the at least one CN in the shared network environment supports emergency communications, transmitting an emergency call support indication to the UE indicating that emergency communications are supported, receiving a request for emergency communications from the UE, and routing the request for emergency communications to another CN that supports emergency communications in the shared network environment, if a given CN does not support emergency communications.
Abstract:
A method for performing a cell search in a multi-subscription device is provided. The method includes estimating, by a first subscriber identity module (SIM) of multiple SIMs of the multi-subscription device, search time information required for identifying one cell and margin time information for cell search, where the first SIM is associated with a first radio access technology (RAT); obtaining a discontinuous reception (DRX) period of a second SIM associated with a second RAT in the multi-subscription device; determining a number of cells to be searched during the DRX period based on the estimated information; performing a measurement for one or more cells to be searched based on the number of the cells; ranking the one or more cells based on the measurement; and initiating a cell search on one or more cells having a highest signal strength during the DRX period.
Abstract:
A method for seamless video capture during flex-state transition in a foldable device includes identifying, by one or more sensors of the foldable device, an initiation of a flex movement of the foldable device based on a plurality of frames of a video being captured by a source camera from among one or more cameras of the foldable device; extracting, based on the identifying of the initiation of the flex movement, a semantic scene from the plurality of frames to determine one or more regions of interest (ROIs) in the semantic scene; determining an optical flow for each of the one or more ROIs; determining a flex trajectory of the foldable device; determining a target camera from among the one or more cameras; determining a transition period to switch to the target camera; and switching capturing of the plurality of frames from the source camera to the target camera.
Abstract:
Providing call continuity for an ongoing call of a User Equipment (UE) of a wireless communication by defining UE behavior specifying actions to be taken by the UE upon detection of occurrence of an event among a plurality of events that may occur during the ongoing call.
