Abstract:
An electronic device process data including a compressed header is provided. The electronic device includes a controller configured to generate a data packet comprising a header compressed based on at least one data packet previously transmitted, and a transmitter configured to transmit the data packet.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and apparatus for packet communication using header compression. The method includes applying a header compression protocol to generate a packet to be transmitted, determining whether the packet is dropped in a transport layer, and transmitting, if it is determined that the packet is dropped, a full packet having an uncompressed header.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal for supporting Rich Communication Suite (RCS) and Voice Over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) based services is provided. The mobile terminal includes an application processor that enables a first layer of a first session connection protocol stack and transmits signaling for an RCS service to a modem processor; and the modem processor that comprises a second session connection protocol stack for connecting a session, and that transmits, to a communication network, the signaling for the RCS service transmitted through the first layer.

Abstract:
A method and a system for handling audio packets in a Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) call by a User Equipment (UE) when Robust Header Compression (ROHC) is enabled are provided. The Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) layer provides the VoLTE call properties to the ROHC compressor. The TCP/IP layer receives the audio packets from audio engine and sends the Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) packets to a ROHC compressor. Further, the ROHC compressor compresses the Internet Protocol/User Datagram Protocol (IP/UDP) headers and a RTP header. The ROHC compressor sends the compressed RTP data along with a payload to the network in the UpLink (UL) data path. During DownLink (DL) data path, ROHC decompressor receives compressed ROHC packet from network. The ROHC decompressor ignores the construction of IP/UDP headers for the compressed data.
Abstract:
A method for establishing a virtual reality (VR) call between a caller VR device and a callee VR device, the method includes determining which of the caller VR device or the callee VR device should perform a stitching operation associated with the VR call based on a first plurality of parameters associated with the callee VR device and a second plurality of parameters associated with the caller VR device, and causing transmission of one of a plurality of media contents or a stitched media content from the caller VR device to the callee VR device after establishment of the VR call based on the determining.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for scanning Radio Access Technology (RAT) of a User Equipment (UE) registered in a first cell in a cellular communication network is provided. The method includes performing a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) procedure for establishing a call, disabling, if the NAS procedure fails, capability of the UE to connect to the first cell, checking information relating to neighboring cells in the network, and selecting at least one RAT included in the information relating to the neighboring cells, and scanning a second cell operating in the at least one RAT based on the information relating to the neighboring cells.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatuses (including, but not limited to, User Equipment (UE) and Base Stations) for a UE to control a packet header compression function in a communication system are described. In one method, if a predetermined condition is satisfied while the packet header compression function is enabled, the UE transmits a request for disabling the packet header compression function to a Base Station (BS), and, if a response is received from the BS, the UE disables the packet header compression function.
