Abstract: A first electronic device for wirelessly transmitting power may include a power transmission circuit, memory, a pulse generator, a foreign object detection circuit configured to detect a foreign object located in a path in which power is wirelessly transmitted through the power transmission circuit, and a control circuit. The control circuit may be configured to wirelessly transmit power to a second electronic device, based on an alternating current (AC) input voltage applied to the power transmission circuit, generate a trigger signal synchronized with a first time corresponding to a specified voltage of the input voltage through the pulse generator, store an output value of the foreign object detection circuit in the memory based on the trigger signal, the output value being identified at the first time, continuously obtain the output value stored in the memory from the memory during a specified time until before the trigger signal of a next period is received at the memory from the pulse generator, and detect the foreign object based on the output value obtained during the specified time.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to an electronic device and a method for detecting a foreign body, wherein a control circuit of the electronic device may be configured to: supply transmission power to a power transmission circuit; identify, on the basis of a low power wireless communication signal, whether an external device is present in a partial area of the externally exposed surface of the electronic device, which corresponds to a resonant circuit; on the basis of the presence of the external device, apply a high frequency current to the resonant circuit and transmit transmission power generated in the resonant circuit to the external device; obtain analog digital converter samples in a half-wave rectified direct current interval of a direct current link voltage corresponding to a transmission current detected in the power transmission circuit; and detect a foreign body on the basis of the analog digital converter samples.

The processor may be configured to: establish a communication connection with a wireless power receiver using the communication module, control the communication module to transmit information about a first period to the wireless power receiver via the communication connection, control the power transmission circuit to transmit first power of a first frequency and a first magnitude to an outside, control the communication module to receive information about a second frequency of second power received at the wireless power receiver from the wireless power receiver via the communication connection, control the communication module to release the communication connection, based on the first frequency being different from the second frequency, and control the power transmission circuit to transmit third power of a magnitude different from the first magnitude of the first power to the outside during the first period, based on the first frequency corresponding to or substantially identical to the second frequency.

Abstract: A wireless power receiving device, according to the disclosure, comprises: at least one power receiving antenna for sequentially receiving a plurality of different RF waves formed by a wireless power transmitting device; a communication circuit; and at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is configured to confirm a plurality of pieces of strength information that indicates the strength of each of the plurality of different RF waves, confirm a plurality of pieces of phase information corresponding to each of the plurality of different RF waves, confirm, on the basis of the plurality of pieces of strength information and the plurality of pieces of phase information, an optimum phase value such that a received RF wave has a maximum strength, and transmit a communication signal including information about the optimum phase value to the wireless power transmitting device through the communication circuit. Additional various embodiments are possible.
