Abstract: An electronic device for taking a pre-action and a method therefor are provided. The electronic device includes a wireless communication circuitry configured to support a Bluetooth protocol and at least one processor operatively connected with the wireless communication circuitry. The at least one processor is configured to establish a first link based on the Bluetooth protocol with a first external electronic device using the wireless communication circuitry, receive a first message for requesting to perform a first pre-action for establishing a second link between the first external electronic device and a second external electronic device from the first external electronic device, using the wireless communication circuitry, perform the first pre-action for establishing the second link with the second external electronic device using the wireless communication circuitry, transmit a second message for reporting a result of the first pre-action to the first external electronic device using the wireless communication circuitry.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a communication module supporting communication based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and a processor operatively coupled to the communication module. The processor is configured to transmit control information to request the communication module to operate in a first mode. Upon receiving an advertising Packet Data Unit (PDU) of predefined types from an external electronic device, the first mode corresponds to a mode of controlling the communication module so that a scan request is transmitted to the external electronic device in response to reception of the advertising PDU of the predefined types. The communication module is configured to receive the advertising PDU from the external electronic device, while operating in the first mode, on the basis of the control information, identify that a type of the received advertising PDU corresponds to a first type distinct from the predefined types, on the basis of a header included in the received advertising PDU, bypass transmission of the scan request on the basis of the identifying, and transmit to the processor an advertising notification for representing that the advertising PDU of the first type has been received.

Abstract: An electronic device and communication coverage compensation method thereof for use in short range communication. An electronic device includes a housing, a radio communication circuit arranged in the housing and configured to support radio communication with a neighboring electronic device, a processor arranged in the housing and electrically connected to the radio communication circuit, a memory arranged in the housing and electrically connected to the processor, the memory storing instructions that, when cited by the processor, cause the processor to communicate with the neighboring electronic device with the radio communication circuit, change, when detecting an event triggering a change from a first symbol rate to a second symbol rate, from the first symbol rate to the second symbol rate, determine a compensation value based on a coverage range, and adjust a transmit power of the radio communication circuit based on the compensation value.

The memory stores instructions that cause the at least one processor to create a link with an external electronic device based on the Bluetooth network, transmit a data packet including content to the external electronic device, through the wireless communication circuitry, identify whether the external electronic device supports a resource control function, receive at least one response message to the data packet through a first time resource, which is previously assigned, when the external electronic device does not support the resource control function, and receive a plurality of response messages to the data packet through a second time resource obtained by changing at least a portion of the first time resource, when the external electronic device supports the resource control function.
