Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for transmitting a multimedia frame through a heterogeneous network in a broadcast system supporting a multimedia service based on an internet protocol are provided. The method includes generating header information including a frame identifier distinguishing a multimedia frame and information measuring a quality of a connection service between network layers and end-to-end network capabilities, and combining the header information and multimedia data to configure the multimedia frame.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for transmitting multimedia content. The apparatus includes a communication interface and a controller coupled to the communication interface. The controller is configured to identify a packet including a packet header and a packet payload. The packet payload includes an access unit including media data related to the multimedia content and information related to the access unit. The controller is also configured to identify control information for delivery and consumption of the multimedia content, and transmit the identified packet and the identified control information. The information related to the access unit includes information on a sequence number of the access unit.
Abstract:
A server for transmitting and receiving messages for a Signaling (S) layer in a Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) Media Transport (MMT) is provided. The server includes a first sub-layer of the S layer for producing first messages to provide information used for the use of MPEG a second sub-layer of the S layer for producing second messages to provide information used for delivering MPEG media, and a Delivery (D) layer for making external and internal deliveries of the first and the second messages, wherein each of the first and the second messages includes at least one field corresponding to each of the message type, version, length, extension field and payload.
Abstract:
A method for processing a content by a set-top box according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises the steps of: receiving a content including an audio stream; and performing bypassing to output the audio stream to a television (TV) through an output interface without performing a decoding operation for the audio stream, wherein the audio stream includes metadata regarding the content.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for controlling a Remote User Interface Server (RUIS) in a Remote User Interface Client (RUIC), wherein the method includes rendering an RUI page for controlling RUISs, receiving an input of a control command for controlling the RUISs from a user through the RUI page, generating a multicast control message for transmitting the input control command in a form of multicast, and transmitting the multicast control message to the RUISs.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for providing a multimedia streaming service, a server transmits a Media Presentation Description (MPD) including information about media data to a client, receives a partial request message requesting a part of media data having a range according to a defined range in the MPD, and transmits to the client a segment having the range in response to the partial request message. The segment includes at least one fragment, segment index information indicating the position of the at least one fragment in the segment, and fragment index information including information indicating the position of each of a plurality of samples included in the at least one fragment and information about a total size of the samples.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting media data in a Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) Media Transport (MMT) system is provided. The method includes receiving a Media Processing Unit (MPU) fragmented into one or more Media Fragment Units (MFUs), generating one or more multimedia data packets each including a packet header and a payload, based on the MPU, and transmitting the one or more multimedia data packets to a terminal. A payload header included in the payload includes identification information indicating an MPU to which at least one MPU included in the payload belongs, and a counter indicating the number of the at least one MPU.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting data of multimedia content is provided. A packet including a packet header and a packet payload is identified. The packet payload includes an access unit including media data related to the multimedia content and information related to the access unit. Control information for delivery and consumption of the multimedia content is identified. The identified packet is transmitted. The identified control information is transmitted separately from the packet. The control information includes type information related to content in the multimedia content, discovery information related to the content in the multimedia content, and relationship information related to contents in the multimedia content.
Abstract:
A method for processing a virtual reality (VR) image according to one aspect of the present disclosure may comprise the steps of: selecting a viewport; transmitting information related to the selected viewport; receiving at least one track related to a VR content overlapping the selected viewport; acquiring metadata from the received at least one track; and rendering the selected viewport from the received at least one track on the basis of the acquired metadata and the selected viewport.
