The system includes a unit for generating an advertisement candidate segment for an advertisement section detected from a broadcast stream a matching unit for determining whether the candidate segment matches each advertisement segment stored in a database (DB); a unit for, if the matching unit determines that a segment matching the candidate segment is not present, determining whether the candidate segment is a direct response advertisement; a registration unit for storing the candidate segment, determined to be a direct response advertisement, as an advertisement segment that is the direct response advertisement in the DB; and a direct response advertisement grouping unit for, if the matching unit determines that an advertisement segment matching the candidate segment is present, and the matching segment is a direct response advertisement, grouping the candidate segment with DB-stored advertisement segments that are direct response advertisements.

The title is listed in a location of an electronic program guide (EPG) using the same categories and subcategories as its hierarchical address. Any TV subscriber can access the EPG and navigate through its categories and subcategories to find a title for viewing on the TV. The EPG dynamically adjust its display listings of each level of categories, subcategories, and titles in order to minimize the number of remote control keypresses needed for a viewer to navigate to a title of interest. In one basic form, the EPG display is reordered by listing more frequently visited categories or subcategories first, and other less frequently visited categories or subcategories lower on the listing or out-of-sight on another page of the display.

摘要： This document describes systems, methods, devices, and other techniques for determining media items to insert in a media stream. A first media client can play a primary media stream that is multicast to various media clients including the first media client and other media clients. The first media client identifies a start of a primary programming timeslot in the primary media stream, and in response, obtains and stores a secondary media item. After storing the secondary media item at the first media client, the first media client detects an insertion signal in the primary media stream that indicates a secondary programming timeslot is about to begin in the primary media stream. The first media client can then play the secondary media item in place of the primary media stream during the secondary programming timeslot.

The delivery instructions indicate to deliver the image to a second device associated with a second user, and the delivery instructions comprise security features and the metadata comprises a plurality of security preferences for delivery. Further, the plurality of security features and the plurality of security preferences are implemented on the image. In response to determination of a security risk due to the implemented security features or security preferences, the image is not delivered to the second device and a message is delivered to the first device indicating that the image was not delivered.
