An apparatus for providing an augmented reality service is provided. The apparatus includes a first server configured to provide an augmented reality service for a first region, a second server configured to provide an augmented reality service for a second region that is differentiated from the first region, and a terminal configured to receive information for the second region from any one of the first server and the second server, and at the time of entering the second region from the first region in the course of performing the augmented reality service mode for the first region, configured to output the information for the second region and configured to switch to the augmented reality service performing mode for the second region.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for implementing augmented reality by using a transparent display are provided. The method includes calculating a point-of-view of a user based on a face image captured by a front camera, detecting an image of an area depending on an angle of view identical to a viewing angle of the user based on the calculated point-of-view of the user, implementing the augmented reality by using the detected image, and outputting the implemented augmented reality to the transparent display.

An electronic device and a method of determining brightness gradients of an electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a memory configured to store a digital image, and a processor configured to process the digital image, wherein the processor is configured to recognize at least one object of the digital image, to determine a descriptor used to recognize the object, to determine the descriptor by using at least one of a location, a direction, and a scale of a feature point on the digital image, to determine brightness gradients of pixels located within an area surrounding the feature point, and to determine the brightness gradients of the pixels based on two or more non-orthogonal fixed directions.

An apparatus and a method for providing a three Dimensional (3D) map showing an area of interest in real time are disclosed. The method includes receiving terminal view information of a plurality of terminals, determining an object of interest on a 3D map based on the received terminal view information; and reconfiguring a 3D map including the object of interest. Position information on an area receiving a lot attention from the public, path information by which the user moves to the area, and a preview image of the area in real time may be provided.

A method for operating an electronic device is provided. The method includes detecting a plurality of feature points in at least a partial region in a digital image, selecting at least two feature points from the detected plurality of feature points, determining whether there is a probability that an object existing in at least one of a plurality of reference images exists in the digital image, by using at least a portion of the at least two feature points, and determining a pose of the object after the probability that the object exists in the digital image is determined.
