    摘要: Apparatus and method for controlling upstream traffic for use in EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) system. The method for controlling upstream data traffic transferred from an ONU (Optical Network Unit) to an OLT (Optical Line Termination) in an EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) system including an ODN (Optical Distribution Network) connected to one OLT, and a plurality of ONUs connected to the ODN and also respectively connected to a plurality of subscribers, includes the steps of a) controlling the OLT to determine an ONU serving as an upstream transmission authority allocation target; b) controlling the OLT to insert information of a predetermined ONU serving as an upstream transmission authority allocation target ONU in a downstream data frame transferred to the ONU, and transmitting the downstream data frame having the inserted ONU information; and, c) controlling the upstream transmission authority allocation target ONU having received the downstream data frame to transmit upstream data. Therefore, limited traffic resources can be used equally by a plurality of ONUs, resulting in the prevention of data collision among upstream signals.

The ONT is connected to a DHCP client. The DHCP server assigns an available IP address existing in an IP address pool established for the ONT having requested the IP address assignment according to ONTs.

    摘要: In an MPEG-2 decoding system, a transport decoder decodes a transport packet corresponding to a Program Identification (PID) from an input transport stream, and retrieves a Program Association Table/Program Map Table PAT/PMT) from the stream when it is requested to retrieve Program Specific lnformation (PSI). A pre-decoder checks PSI stored in a PSI memory in response to a request to change to a desired channnel, reads PIDs of transport packets for a Packetized Elementary Stream (PES) of a program corresponding to the desired channel from the PSI memory to provide it to the transport decoder, receives the PAT/PMT and updates the contents of the memory using the PAT/PMT. After decoding, PSI previously extracted therefrom is stored in the memory. PIDs of transport packets for the PES of desired program are obtained referring to the stored PSI, and transport packets having the PIDs are retrieved and decoded.

    摘要: A connector assembly for coupling a corrosive gas supply pipe with a glass tube in an apparatus for fabricating an optical fiber preform using vapor deposition is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a first connector formed on an inner periphery thereof with a threaded portion, a second connector having a stepped surface on an inner surface and formed on an outer periphery with a threaded portion threadedly engaged with the first connector, an O-ring installed in the first connector and in close contact with the stepped surface when the second connector is threadedly engaged with the first connector, and resilient means for urging the O-ring against the stepped surface. The connector assembly consistently applies a resilient force to the O-ring functioning as a seal between the first and second connectors. For a long-running operation, even though the O-ring is cured, the fitting maintains a consistent sealing state to prevent metal material from being oxidized by the corrosive gas. As a result, fine oxidized metal particulars do not infiltrate into the gas supply pipe to prevent the optical fiber preform from deteriorating.

    摘要: In an MPEG-2 decoding system, a transport decoder decodes a transport packet corresponding to a PID from an input transport stream, and retrieves a PAT/PMT from the stream when it is requested to retrieve PSI.     摘要: A Gigabit Ethernet passive optical network (GE-PON) having a double link structure is disclosed. The GE-PON includes an optical line terminal (OLT), a plurality of optical couplers, and a plurality of optical network units (ONUs). The OLT sets up an active link and a standby link in response to a registration request message received over an optical cable. Each of the ONUs is doubly connected with the OLT via the optical cable and is adapted to transmit the registration request message to the OLT, form the active link with the OLT via the optical cable if it receives an active registration message transmitted from the OLT in response to the registration request message, and form the standby link with the OLT via the optical cable if it receives a standby message from the OLT. The optical couplers are disposed between the OLT and each of the ONUs to doubly interconnect them via different optical cables.
