摘要: A wellbore is plugged with a downhole completion assembly configured to permit logging and/or imaging in the wellbore past the completion assembly. The completion assembly includes an annular receptacle with an upper end that is open and a lower end that is closed. The receptacle is mounted inside of a plug that blocks flow around the receptacle while flow through the receptacle is prevented by the closed lower end. The lower end projects deeper into the wellbore past the plug. A space is formed inside the receptacle by its closed lower end and sidewalls, which is accessible by an imaging/logging tool deployed from above and inserted through the open upper end. Imaging or logging from within the receptacle increases how much of the formation around the wellbore that can be imaged/logged. Examples of imaging/logging include nuclear, electro-magnetic, acoustic and for sensing characteristics such as resistivity, density, and porosity.

摘要: A wellbore whipstock tool assembly includes a body that includes an uphole axial surface that is slanted from one portion of an edge of the uphole axial surface to another portion of the edge of the uphole axial surface, a downhole axial surface opposite the uphole axial surface, and a radial surface between the uphole axial surface and the downhole axial surface; one or more keys formed on the radial surface and configured to secure into one or more keyholes formed in a casing of a wellbore; and a bore that extends between an opening in the uphole axial surface and an opening in the downhole axial surface, the bore sized to receive a bottom hole assembly of an intervention tool.

摘要: A method for shutting off a wet interval of a wellbore includes producing hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon bearing subterranean formation through a production string installed in the wellbore, identifying the wet interval of the wellbore, perforating the production string in the wet interval using an explosive-free punch tool to produce a plurality of openings in the production string, isolating the production string in the wet interval, treating the wet interval with a sealing composition injected through the plurality of openings into an annulus of the wellbore in the wet interval, and restoring a fluid flow path through the production string in the wet interval. The restored fluid flow path through the wet interval enables continued production of hydrocarbons from downhole intervals, while the sealing composition cured in the annulus provides a barrier to prevent fluid flow from the wet interval into the production string.

摘要: Methods and systems for producing fluids from a subterranean well include forming the subterranean well having at least one lateral wellbore. The lateral wellbore is completed with a lateral production tubular. The lateral wellbore is subdivided into subsequent lateral segments. Each lateral segment is defined by a downhole lateral packer and an uphole lateral packer that seal an annular lateral space defined by an outer diameter surface of the lateral production tubular and an inner diameter surface of the lateral wellbore. A main production tubular extends into the subterranean well, the main production tubular including a lateral access system that provides selective access to the lateral wellbore. A flow of a fluid within the lateral segment is controlled with an inflow control device of the lateral segment. The inflow control device is mechanically adjusted by a tool that is delivered to the inflow control device through the lateral access system.
