    Abstract: A hybrid module for a hybrid vehicle is disclosed. The hybrid module has two clutches located radially inward of an electric motor, and in their own respective fluid chamber. Fluid from one chamber can cool one of the clutches. Then the fluid can travel axially to the other chamber to cool the other clutch. The hybrid module can include a wall assembly between the two clutches, separating the fluid chambers. After the fluid cools both clutches, the fluid is directed to the wall assembly, and passes through two walls, radially outwardly, to spray onto the electric motor to cool the motor.

    Abstract: A torque converter includes a front cover configured to receive an input torque, and an impeller having an outer shell coupled to the front cover. A clutch is selectively engageable by a piston. A cover compensator is located axially between the front cover and the piston. The cover compensator is configured to reduce deflection of the front cover in the event of high pressures when changing gears in the transmission. The cover compensator has a radially-innermost sealing surface configured to engage and seal with a transmission input shaft. The cover compensator may also has an aperture to fluidly couple fluid chambers located on either axial side of the cover compensator. This can allow fluid to be forced through the clutch to continuously lubricate the clutch.

    Abstract: A seal arrangement is provided having a first part with a seal gland, and a seal located in the seal gland. The seal has an outer sealing surface and an inner support surface that is supported on a bottom support surface of the seal gland. A second part having a sealing surface is provided against which the outer sealing surface of the seal is pressed. A relief area is formed in a portion of the bottom support surface of the seal gland, with the relief area being configured to receive a resiliently deflected portion of the inner support surface of the seal during assembly.     Abstract: A torque converter having a hydraulically-actuated stator clutch therein is provided. In particular, the torque converter includes a stator, and a hub axially aligned with at least a portion of the stator and located radially inward of at least a portion of the stator. The hydraulically-actuated stator clutch is disposed within the stator and is configured to selectively couple the stator to the hub. The hub defines a dedicated fluid passageway extending therethrough to fluidly couple a transmission fluid source to the hydraulically-actuated clutch. Slipping of the clutch is therefore controlled via hydraulic fluid. This allows for modification of characteristics of the torque converter that are not otherwise possible with standard one-way clutches in torque converter stators.
