    Abstract: A coupling comprises at least two inter-connected torque couplings. Each torque coupling includes a pair of clutch end members, a clutch centre member disposed between the clutch end members, and an actuator coupled to one of the end members. The end members and the centre member each includes a set of concentric V-grooves each disposed on a respective face thereof. The centre member is axially movable between the end members. The actuator is configured to simultaneously couple the end members to the centre member by engaging the V-grooves of both of the respective end members with the V-grooves of the centre member. The centre member of one of the torque couplings comprises one of the opposing surfaces of the one torque coupling, another of the opposing surfaces of the one torque coupling and one of the end members of another of the torque couplings.

    Abstract: An engine assembly may include an internal combustion engine and an expander couplable to the internal combustion engine in a force transmitting manner. The engine assembly may also include a pulley mounted rotatably on a shaft of the expander. The pulley may be coupled to the internal combustion engine in a force-transmitting manner via a belt drive. The engine assembly may further include a first driver plate connected non-rotatably to the pulley and a second driver plate arranged adjacent thereto and connected non-rotatably to the shaft. The engine assembly may additionally include a clutch device including at least one actuating device and a coupling wheel. The coupling wheel may contact the first driver plate and the second driver plate when the clutch device is closed such that the pulley is connected with the shaft of the expander in a driving manner.

    Abstract: A hydraulic pump with an integrated clutch includes an outer cone coupled to a drive gear or a driven gear and having a frictional inner surface, and an inner cone arranged inside the outer cone, coupled to the drive gear or the driven gear and having a frictional outer surface, wherein the inner and outer cones are rotationally and axially movable with respect to each other. A spring is coupled to the inner cone or the outer cone and acts to axially displace the inner cone with respect to the outer cone in a first direction. An actuator including a rod and a piston is coupled to the inner cone or the outer cone and acts to overcome the force of the spring to axially displace the inner cone with respect to the outer cone in a second direction being axially opposite to the first direction.

    Abstract: A clutch device for a clutch system has an input member that rotates at a first speed. A friction drive system is disposed between the input member and an output member. The clutch device is selectively movable by a fluid actuator assembly, between an engaged position in which the friction drive system drives the output member to rotate at the first speed, and a disengaged position in which a viscous drive system rotates the output member at a second speed slower than the first speed. A variable viscous fluid supply assembly includes a viscous fluid storage chamber, a valve, and a valve actuator that selectively drives the valve to move between an open position and a closed position to control an amount of viscous fluid available to the viscous drive system, thereby varying the second speed.

    Abstract: A clutch device for a clutch system has an input member that rotates at a first speed. A friction medium is disposed between the input member and an output member. The output member rotates on a bearing coupled to a piston. The piston translates relative to the input member, between an engaged position in which the friction ring frictionally engages with the input member, thereby driving the output member to rotate at the first speed, and a disengaged position in which the friction ring is spaced apart from the input member. A biasing member urges the piston toward the engaged position. A pressurized fluid in a fluid receiving chamber selectively urges the piston toward the disengaged position. A resistance member disposed in a chamber containing a viscous fluid transfers torque from the input member to rotate the output member at a second speed.
