    摘要: This disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for informing users regarding one or more conversations currently occurring within a geographic area of interest (GOI). In one embodiment, a user device associated with a user obtains conversation data for the GOI from a server computer. The conversation data may indicate a topic of the conversation and a location of the conversation. The user device may then present a visual representation of the GOI to the user. For example, the visual representation may be a map or a viewfinder frame captured by a camera of the GOI. The user device may present one or more visual indicators. At least one visual indicator is presented in association with the visual representation of the GOI in order to represent the topic of the conversation and the location of the conversation.

    摘要: A system and method are provided for utilizing a secondary device to overlay disassociated media elements onto video content presented to a user via a primary device. In general, an overlay control function of a secondary device provides an overlay input to a primary device playing video content. The overlay input includes one or more media elements forming the overlay as well as information defining a desired position of the overlay. In response, an overlay rights enforcement function of the primary device obtains overlay access rights and determines whether the overlay is permitted based on overlay access rights. If the overlay is permitted, the overlay formed by the one or more media elements provided in the overlay input received from the secondary device is overlaid on top of the video content being played by the primary device.

In general, video series item recommendations are generated for a viewer group detected within a viewing area of a media device based on personal viewing histories of users in the viewer group. In one embodiment, the video series item recommendations are recommendations for video series items that: (a) are from one or more video series historically viewed by at least a first predefined minimum threshold number of users in the viewer group and (b) have not yet been viewed by any of at least a second predefined minimum threshold number of users in the viewer group.
