摘要: A modular higher density communications coupling system including a universal platform for supporting multiple connectors from a single outlet hole is disclosed. The platform includes a main body member having a registration ridge extending forward of the main body member for extending into a standard sized outlet hole. A pair of apertures adjacent to each other extend through the main body member and are generally surrounded by the registration ridge. A pair of connector housings are attachable to the rear of the platform in alignment with the apertures for housing connectors. A pair of retaining members on two sides of the apertures hold the connector housings in position. A pair of support members extend rearwardly from the main body of the platform on the other two sides of the apertures. A termination plate is mounted in the support members, the termination plate having a plurality of electrical couplings for connecting the wire from a wall to the connector. A grounding screw mount provides easy access from the front, side or rear. The relationship between the retaining members, apertures, and support members facilitates a higher density of electrical couplings than previously possible in the prior art. Telecommunications apparatus of the type identified within the specification, in combination with the aforesaid, is contemplated as coming within the scope of the present invention.

摘要: A connector jack usable with a plug having a plurality of plug contacts. The jack includes a body having a receptacle sized and configured to receive the plug therein, a circuit board, and a plurality of contact tines extending within the receptacle. Each tine has a first end fixedly attached to the circuit board and a second free end, and is positioned in the receptacle for contact by a corresponding one of the plug contacts and moved in response thereto in a first direction as the plug is inserted into the receptacle. The jack also includes a plurality of resilient spring members extending within the receptacle, each positioned adjacent to a corresponding one of the tines to be engaged thereby when moved in the first direction by the corresponding plug contact as the plug is inserted into the receptacle, and apply a supplemental force thereon to increase contact force and tine resiliency.

摘要: A compensating jack connector includes a printed circuit (PC) board with wire trace layers for reducing unwanted crosstalk originating in wire pairs including those found within a conventional communication plug coupled to the compensating jack connector. Some embodiments of the PC board of the compensating jack connector include layers having inter-digitated capacitance to form compensative capacitive coupling and multi-point compensative coupling and inductance to form inductive coupling to reduce the unwanted crosstalk. Pairs of wire traces are so oriented in some of the PC board layers to couple inductance between one pair of wire traces with inductance between another pair of wire traces to contribute in reduction of unwanted crosstalk. Some embodiments of multi-point compensative coupling position inter-digitated capacitance at different time delay distances from origination points of unwanted crosstalk and having different polarities to contribute in reduction of unwanted crosstalk. Other embodiments of the PC board have layers that include other capacitive coupling having a single time delay distance from a source of unwanted crosstalk. Further embodiments of the PC board of the compensating jack connector include layers having combinations of the inductive compensative coupling, multi-point compensative coupling, and the other capacitive coupling.
