The white pigment is formed of titanium oxide fine particles having an average particle diameter of not less than 0.15 μm and not more than 0.25 μm and coated with at least one of aluminum oxide and silicon oxide. The white pigment is further coated with not less than 0.01% by mass and not more than 2.5% by mass of at least one of an SiH-containing polysiloxane and dimethylpolysiloxane.

The inkjet recording method includes the steps of applying an ink-receiving solution prepared by dissolving in an aqueous solvent at least one metal salt having a water solubility of 0.1 mol/l or more, selected from calcium salts, magnesium salts, nickel salts and zinc salts having a valence of 2 or more, to at least the surface to be printed by using an inkjet ink or the entire surface of a recording medium; and printing on the metal salt adhered part by using the inkjet ink comprising at least a pigment, a resin emulsion and an aqueous solvent containing a surfactant. Further, a phosphorus-containing group having at least one P—O or P═O bond is bound to the surface of the pigment.

The oil-based ink composition for ink jet recording comprises as a main solvent at least a specific polyalkylene glycol dialkyl ether and containing at least a specific quinacridone pigment component. That composition should be such that when a measuring sample comprising it is analyzed by means of high speed liquid chromatography under specific measuring conditions, the concentration of a component having a peak at the holding time of 10.3 minutes is 0.4 ppm or less.
