    摘要： In an alkaline dry battery, a sealant comprising grease with a worked penetration of from 175 to 475 is disposed between an opening end of a metal case and a peripheral end of a sealing body. This sealant, comprising the above grease, differs from a conventional sealant in being usable without using an organic solvent. This sealant is also capable of preventing creeping of an electrolyte between the metal case and the sealing body.

    摘要： An alkaline dry battery of the present invention includes a battery case, a sealing plate for sealing an opening of the battery case and a gasket arranged between the battery case and the sealing plate, and further includes, between the gasket and the battery case, a sealant layer comprising 10 to 60 wt % of higher saturated fatty acid having a carbon number of 12 to 22 and 90 to 40 wt % of univalent unsaturated fatty acid. The sealant layer is obtained by using a sealant capable of being applied without the help of an organic solvent, and therefore does not cause harmful effect to the environment and has excellent sealing property.

    摘要： An alkaline dry battery of this invention includes: a positive electrode including at least one of a manganese dioxide powder and a nickel oxyhydroxide powder; a negative electrode including a zinc alloy powder; a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; an alkaline electrolyte; and a battery case for housing the positive electrode, negative electrode, the separator, and the alkaline electrolyte. The negative electrode further includes a surfactant that adsorbs to a surface of the zinc alloy powder during a non-discharge period and promptly desorbs from the surface of the zinc alloy powder upon start of discharge without impeding ion transfer in the alkaline electrolyte.
